& here we are with our first spring retreat (obviously organised in the wrong order lol). As I've previously mentioned in a post, we will also be collaborating with the wonderful & very knowledgeable Simon Birbeck on our first weekend retreat, this time camping in the Teme Valley where you will be able to experience bushcraft, survival skills, foraging as well as making your own art materials & much more.

The 2nd of our collaborative retreats is now available on our website. If your looking for a few days away to reconnect with nature & your creativity with like minded souls with a hint of glamping luxury, this one is for you!
This has been a long time in the making. I've been asked about doing retreats for many years & have just been looking for the right regular venue which we have definitely found at the beautiful Knotted roots orchard & eco-stay only a couple of miles outside of Tenbury. As we head into the new year, its exciting to know that our current classes are fully booked with some amazing artists & they enjoy it so much that we are starting new ones. There's something for everyone, whether your looking to socialise, manage your wellbeing or developing your skills. I'll be sharing our upcoming workshops & retreats in the next few weeks as we finalise details but for now I thought I'd give you a head start on booking for these 4. Just a bit of an update.....

It's been a massive juggle the past couple of months balancing my mural work & home life & studio time. The shape of the studio has been trying to find a balance along with me. It may sound strange, but there is a connection to that space with my own growth & challenges as well as those who frequent it. Floods, finances & the art world changing so much even in this little town has certainly taught me to adapt, & the space has done that along with me. But I'm now at a turning point in my own life & while the furniture is up after our last flood scare, me & mum have decided to get the studio sorted for it's next chapter - beginning with christmas.

Art classes will continue this week but the shop space will be closed while we make the changes. I will hopefully be focusing on more time to teach (as well as creating more space to do so) & concentrate on my own artistic practice to fill the shop as well as the wellbeing art can give to us all. We have some events in the process of getting booked in ATM which i look forward to sharing with you all soon, as well as 3 new art classes beginning in January so if you would like to be added to the wait list, please get in touch. Oh & we also have Christmas crafts which i will be starting in December so if you would like to make a booking, please get in touch & i will update the website ASAP.

Coming soon......

"sorry we missed you"....

& genuinely, even though this has been the first weekend we've had in 2 yrs together where we have planned to do something together without keeping an eye on 3 high octane dogs & successfully managed it (thank you sister in law & mum from the bottom of our hearts), not worked & had a bit of time as adults together, we still couldn't turn fully off from the responsibilities. I think the truth is that we never truly can disconnect once we have that love in our lives, where we depend on them for purpose as much as they depend on us for.... Well living. But if there ever was a place, purpose & people to do that with, to rediscover our connection to nature, creativity & each other, it would be here with the fantastic Simon Birbeck on his bush crafting weekend!

& so I return to work already, albeit over a pint, discussing new ventures by a camp fire as we plan our joint venture into organising some nature based art workshops mixed with bushcrafting for next year; at a beautiful venue, with beautiful people to create beautiful things from beautiful surroundings all in the hope that others can find themselves & the peace that we've experienced this weekend... Tapping into our creativity, concentrating on our mental health & connections with nature & those we love so that we can do all of that better! What's not to love?

A gift to help heal grief

It's the one thing which connects us all, the one thing which cannot be avoided but it is something which we all struggle to speak about or know how to comfort those we love when they experience it. One of the main forms of commissions we get asked to do are portraits (both people & animals) of those who are no longer with us, mostly as gifts as a way to help that process of remembering the joy, lessons & love that they brought us. It's a deeply personal thing which is always a great honour to be asked to do. But there is always one issue we are faced with, & that is timing. We all grieve in our own way & at our own time, and although the intention is always filled with love and care, to receive a gift like this too early can be devastating.

so we will now be offering a special gift certificate for those who wish to gift their loved ones a commission but allows the receiver to have it completed when they are ready. Your gift certificate will come in a special personalised packaging with information explaining everything they will need to know & will allow the owner up to 2 yrs to claim with a consultation included to ensure that their spirit can be captured to the best of our ability.
