We are looking forward to dry days and warmer weather but what do we do when it’s raining - we continue to open the outdoor area and get our children kitted out in wetsuits and wellies and make the most of the rain.

We also have lots of invitations to learn set up indoors and yesterday this making ourselves idea started with just some eyes, noses and mouths and then the children wanted to do their body size!

One of our most popular books in Preschool usually become a reality in the Summer Term because we have a delivery of real caterpillars.

As the weeks go on, our children love reading the story to each other - it’s an easy story to remember and act out.

We watch how over the weeks, our tiny caterpillars grow and change into butterflies, which we then set free. Our children love coming into Preschool in the morning and observing how much our caterpillars are growing.

Once a month we love to offer our children a complimentary week of breakfast for morning snack. This is great time to encourage independence skills, for children to chat and sit together socially and for some children to try food they may not usually have at home. It does take our whole team to do this but we love the excitement having the breakfast week bring for our children.

During our everyday snack/lunch times we encourage our children to pour their own drinks too.
