Dear Parents/Carers

Please find attached the adjusted start and finish times for the new school year.
Please check your child's class timetable as some have changed slightly.
Your child's new, personal, named PE kit will be handed out during the first week.... remember these PE kits will remain in school, and will be laundered by the school staff. Your child is more than welcome to wear their own PE kit from home, if you prefer, but it must be an appropriate school kit or they will be expected to wear the one bought by school.
You will be advised of the days your child will be doing PE by the class teacher, during the course of next week.

This week in daycare we have been continuing our theme of “In the Garden”

We have all planted some cress seeds & can’t wait to see them grow.

We have investigated a selection of vegetables focusing on big & little.

The children really enjoyed the dinosaur small world .

The children created some gorgeous red flower 🌺 paintings, using the finger paint technique.

We created some gorgeous petal play dough which smelt divine 💕 the children enjoyed making flower prints in the dough.

The children also found some mini beasts whilst our playing in the garden 🐛

We’ve had a truly wonderful week with our 2 year olds ☺️

This weeks focus story will be “From the Garden”
Here’s a sneaky peak at some of the activities waiting for you tomorrow 🥦🥬🥔🍠

This week in daycare we have welcomed our new starters, they have had a fabulous 1st week with lots of fun 💕

The children enjoyed our focus story “who’s in the garden” each day joining in with the noises in the story.

We planted flowers for the pots to hang around the garden fence, we can’t wait to watch them grow 🌸 The children enjoyed filling the pots with soil & making a hole with their fingers to pop the flowers in, we then talked about what the flowers would need to grow & the children helped to water them each day 🌸

We had a fabulous time in the forest looking out for signs of spring.

The children were working hard on their fine motor skills making their fingers strong by pinching the peg petals onto the flower head. This was quite tricky, so well done 👍🏻

The children enjoyed a PE session in the main school hall with crossbar. They followed instructions really well.

We’ve had a fabulous fun week with you all, have a lovely long weekend & we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 🌈

Another busy fun filled week in daycare 🐣
Lots of Easter themed activities

The children particularly enjoyed digging for eggs in the sand & exploring the Easter tuff tray 🥕 🐰

They tried really hard with their fine motor skills to pick up the chicks using the tweezers 👍🏻

The children did really well at colour sorting, putting the correct coloured eggs into the matching baskets 🧺

We also explored the Easter treasure basket, talking about the items we found & how they felt.

The children were fascinated by the patterns the marbles made on their Easter card design, we hope you liked them ❤️

This week in daycare we have been continuing our On the Farm topic 🐷 🐮 🦆

The children have enjoyed making play dough, which they then used to make play dough animals

We enjoyed making pig biscuits to take home.

The children worked hard in the creative area to make animals for the fantastic new Old McDonald had a Farm display, it looks amazing 🤩

This week the children had to try & rescues the animals taped down, it was a tricky business but they persevered using their fine motor skills 👍🏻

On Tuesday the children had a lovely PE session in the school hall, focused all around ball skills.

In maths the children have been busy counting out scoops of food to feed the hungry animals.

Our spring display has started to bloom & the children have enjoyed smelling the different flowers 🌸

In the water tray the children used their fine motor skills again to clean the muddy animals using the brushes available, making those little fingers strong.

We got to say goodbye to the chicks 🐥who have now gone to their new homes ❤️

We ended the week with crazy outdoor weather when it started to snow briefly, we ran outside to catch snowflakes on our tongues 👅 ❄️

Here’s some of the activities ready for them tomorrow ☺️

We have had the busiest most fun week in daycare

So many activities including investigating different vegetables, chopping them using our own knifes & then cooking them to make vegetable soup.
The children enjoyed eating it for snack 😋

The children enjoyed the sensory tuff tray farm & using the sensory trays to describe the different textures of the grass, soil & straw.

We have been looking at animal homes this week, & where the farm animals live. The children particularly liked the pig sty 🐷
We continued this in our forest school session where the children made their own animal homes using the natural resources they found in the forest.

We ended our week with a very special visit to the nursery to see the baby chicks that hatched only yesterday 🐤 the children were fascinated 💛

We’ve also been busy making gifts for Sundays special day 💞

We have baby chicks ! 🐤 🐣 🐥 🐣 When we left school tonight we had 4 that had hatched. I wonder how many we will have in the morning?

Here are some pictures of our wonderful new outdoor learning garden! The children have been exploring and learning in each of our challenge areas 😊

Reception joined in a Chinese New Year Workshop this week. They have been learning all about the festival and ways that it is celebrated. The dragon dance was so much fun! They tried hard to learn how to use chopsticks 😊

Reception have been exploring signs of spring. This afternoon they investigated signs of spring in the forest. They found flowers, made nests and investigated where the could find minibeasts! A fun afternoon for all 😊

Our focus story has been Farmer duck 🦆
The children have enjoyed joining in with the story each day ☺️

We have been busy with lots of art work this week, which included painting farm animals & using the chunky chalks to draw the animals.
We carefully picked out what colours we may need.
We have been trying hard to hold our mark making tools correctly.

We had a fun PE lesson using the parachute, the children loved this.

One of the games we played this week was matching the adult animal to their young, lots of new vocabulary was learnt such as foal & kid.

The children also enjoyed the new sensory display, touching all the different textures on the teddies tummy’s.

We ended the week with a visit to the new amazing pre school playground. The children loved it, we can’t wait to play again.

Fun in daycare this week ☺️

This weeks focus story was the noisy farm 🐷 🐮 🦆
The children drew their own animals using the wax crayons & looking at the animal pictures.

We have been busy this week setting up a farm/deli shop, where the children have enjoyed being shop keepers & customers ☺️

We transformed our water tray into a duck pond 🦆 we focused on the song 5 little ducks 🦆

We made yummy sheep biscuits, talking about the ingredients & measuring them out, we used our gross motor skills to roll out the pastry.

In our PE lesson this week we were learning to throw the bean bag and then collect it.

So today in daycare we came to the end of our very Hungry Caterpillar week 🐛

We finished off our paper plate Caterpillar, made yummy butterfly biscuits 🦋, drew our own Caterpillars & revisited the story.

World book day fun in the 2 year old room today 📚 🐛
We have been busy doing lots of hungry caterpillar crafts, we also watched the story on the big screen ☺️
You all looked amazing in your costumes ❤️ we loved them ❤️

We enjoyed warm pancakes for snack with lots of yummy toppings. 🥞

This week as part of World book day we are learning all about The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛

Today we made our own butterfly paintings & rolled out the play dough to make long caterpillars, we used loose parts to decorate our caterpillars.

Miss Evans (Dawn) also taught us a new caterpillar song.

We also went to the dance studio for our PE session with Josh today. So much fun 🤩

This week we have enjoyed lots of different activities to do with travelling to space. We have read ‘Zoom to the moon’, we have made our own aliens, flying saucers, moon dough and volcanoes!
As we had to cancel forest school today due to the weather, we have had fun making cupcakes and practising writing our names.

As part of our transport topic this term we enjoyed going to sit on a double decker bus! We had lots of fun 🚌

What a wonderful morning the reception children have had today 🚂 🚌 as part of their transport theme this term we took the children on a little journey.

We had a double decker bus ride from school to wellington, then a hop on the train from Wellington station to Telford central & then back on the double decker to the Captain Webb ☺️

The children absolutely loved every second & to give them such real experiences was a pleasure ☺️ A massive thank you to all of the families that came today, it was much appreciated ❤️ & a massive well done to our well behaved captain Webb reception classes ❤️

The reception children had a lovely walk over to a local church yesterday, we talked about the story of Christmas & what we are grateful for ❤️
It was a lovely end to a busy week 🎄🎁

Today the reception classes were very lucky to be invited to visit a local Hindu temple.
The children absolutely loved it & were also so well behaved on our visit ❤️
When we returned to school we had a tasting afternoon of samosas & Indian sweets, which were kindly made for us by one of our wonderful parents ❤️
