Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fairtrade Coffee Morning. It was wonderful to see so many families come together and enjoy such a lovely community event. A huge thank you to Sam from the Co-op for visiting and treating us to some delicious Fairtrade goodies, and to Telford and Wrekin Family Hub for taking the time to join us. Maths Challenge 🧮

Last week, a group of our children were invited to take part in a Maths Challenge at Wrekin College. They worked alongside pupils from our sister school, Redhill Primary Academy, tackling a range of exciting mathematical challenges and problem-solving activities.

Their teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills were outstanding, and they were a real credit to the school. Their enthusiasm for mathematics shone throughout the event, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.

Well done to everyone involved! 🌟👏

Tomorrow morning we will be opening our doors for our first Fairtrade Coffee Morning! ☕🌍

If you would like to join us, please enter through the main school entrance. Doors will open at 8:50am, and the event will run until 9:45am.

We look forward to welcoming you, enjoying a cup of coffee together, and raising awareness of the importance of supporting Fairtrade and the positive difference it makes to producers and communities around the world.

✨ This week, our Year 2 children enjoyed a fantastic visit to Ironbridge, linking closely to their learning in Literacy, Geography and Art.

The children were a real credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour throughout the day. We were especially proud to receive compliments from members of the public about their conduct and enthusiasm.

Well done, Year 2! We look forward to continuing our learning back in the classroom and building on all the exciting things we discovered and experienced during our visit. 😊

This week, Year 5/6 took part in a fantastic 'Loudmouth' workshop exploring the impact of screen time on children and young people. Through engaging drama activities and discussions, pupils learned how to recognise the signs of misinformation and disinformation, understand the importance of respectful behaviour online, and identify where to seek help if they ever feel unsafe. A valuable and thought-provoking experience for all involved!

Year 3 had been wondering why their class plant was looking a little sad during the day. After capturing its behaviour on a time-lapse video, we discovered that it was actually a Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura)!

This fascinating tropical plant is known for its beautiful patterned leaves, which lie flat during the day and fold upwards like praying hands at night, giving it its common name.

The children's reaction to this amazing discovery was priceless, and it sparked lots of curiosity and excitement. 🌿✨

🌿💧 Year 4 have started the year with an exciting visit to Carding Mill Valley, linking to their Geography learning about the journey of a river. The children had a fantastic time using classification grids to identify creatures found in the stream and carrying out fieldwork around the valley. What a wonderful start to the new school year!

The first two days back at school have been filled with smiles, laughter and so many lovely moments. It has been fantastic to welcome all of the children back and see their excitement as they settle into their new classes and routines.

A particular highlight has been watching our Nursery and Reception children spend time with their "Big Friends". The care, kindness and encouragement shown by the older children has been wonderful to see. They have helped our youngest pupils feel safe, confident and excited about their new school adventure.

There has already been so much learning, exploring and friendship-building taking place across our new school building. Seeing happy, engaged children enjoying their first days back reminds us why we love what we do.

We are incredibly proud of all of our pupils for the positive way they have started the year and would like to thank our families for their continued support. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead filled with learning, growth and memorable experiences.

Well done, everyone. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
