We celebrated World Book Day with the tale of The Giant Carrot, our children enjoyed watching and joining in with the role play of the story and making fun of our staff who wore their giant vegetable costumes all day!😁
The children made a great effort dressing up too, thank you 😊
The sun came out after a rainy start 🌤
This week we resumed our visits to the woods as we returned to Forest Adventures🌳
We enjoyed a scavenger hunt, looking for natural treasure to bring back to nursery and found some muddy puddles to jump in too! 💦
Our Community Charity Shop are recruiting...if you are looking for volunteer work, please call in for a chat and to collect an application form!

Such a busy week, Easter crafting..🐤🖌✂️🖍
Ness had a difficult job today ensuring no 'licking of the spoon' occurred during our Easter nest cake making...🐣 Although the activity did include lots of handwashing so we assure you the cakes are safe to eat!😁
Happy Easter....a special thank you to Ambers nanny who nominated us to receive a donation of Easter eggs, a lovely surprise delivery to nursery today!
Thank you to Blakemores and the staff at Shawbirch Spa, there is an egg for everyone so to anyone who isn't in nursery today, don't worry, yours will be waiting for you when you return next week or after the Easter break, week commencing Monday 19th April.
Our children have really enjoyed completing their first week of The Daily Mile. Our first mile was spontaneous and children were able to choose to move their bodies however they wished, walk, run or skip while chatting to their friends. As each day has passed we have incorporated some songs ,stories and games into our mile, the children have so far enjoyed Can you catch a lion and Where, oh where is Hadley Bear?
Once again, we are having a lovely day celebrating World Book Day. Our chosen book for the day is Snow White, we are making erupting apples, exploring the number 7, tasting apples in all different forms, making magic mirrors and digging for gems in our very own diamond mine! Thank you to everyone for the super effort with costumes x
Just a quick reminder that Nursery is now closed and will reopen after half term on Tuesday 23rd February 🌈
🌈Thank You to all of our Parents and Carers, once again we have been overwhelmed with the support and understanding you have given to our staff as we adapt to ensure we are compliant with current restrictions.
This picture has been sent to us so many times, it means the world to us and maintains our resolve to ensure we keep nursery life and routines, happy, carefree and as safe for our children as we possibly can ❤️
🌈To those families who are keeping children at home, thank you to you too, your child's key worker will be keeping in touch to see if there is any further learning and development support you require.
Wake up, wake up all you woolly sheep...
A Soldiers song....
We had smaller groups of our older children who would have been helping narrate the story today to you, they did a great job!
And just because they are all a bunch of wrigglers and you may have not have got to see them on the video in all their glory, here are all today’s performers!
Christmas Nativity Carols 2020
Well once again 2020 tried to dampen our spirits today and although we were disappointed not to be able to have our outdoor carol concert due to the heavy rain, we hope you enjoy watching our virtual performance!
Our staff and volunteers at the community shop are suited and booted in their Christmas attire to welcome you and help with any Christmas shopping you have left to do! 🎄
Unfortunately our Community shop will be closing until 02/12/20 as it does not fall into the essential category of retail premises.
Gill, Jane and the team of amazing volunteers have been working really hard on ensuring they are all ready to go with new, quality Christmas and seasonal winter stock when you need us and hopefully when we are able to reopen on 02/12/20.
In the meantime, we recognise how well supported our shop is not only by our local community but also those customers who travel to shop with us and we would like to express our sincere gratitude, every penny we make from each and every donation and sale goes straight back into making our nursery the best it can be, proceeds help with maintenance, art and craft supplies and play and learning experiences that we are able to offer to our children, so from every one of our staff, children and their families, we thank you for your continued support!!
Hi Everyone, we hope you all continue to be well, its been a while! Nursery is open as normal and we continue to operate under the COVID-19 guidance set out to us from Local Authority, Government and Public Health England.
Nursery will continue to operate during our normal hours Monday-Friday until 02/12/20 unless the current situation and/or advice to Early Years Settings should change.
Keep safe, well and smiling!
Everyone at Hadley Under 5's xx
We hope that you all continue to keep safe and well and that life is beginning to return to something nearer to normal for most.🤞
We continue to be open Monday-Wednesday for a ‘bubble’ of children whose parents have continued to work through the Covid-19 crisis or have returned to their places of work since some restrictions have been lifted.🛣
We will be welcoming our second ‘bubble’ on Monday 27th July as our term time only children will have finished and some full time children will return for the first time since we closed.
At this point I would like to sincerely thank all of the stay at home parents and those that continue to work from home or be Furloughed for keeping your children at home, you have done an amazing job too!!😊
I have spoken to many parents and carers and know how anxious some feel about the return to ‘normal’ which I hope September will bring, albeit with some restrictions, but we are working really hard to ensure we will be able to welcome everyone back to nursery while keeping safe ❤️
For all of our children starting school in September, teachers have been in touch and we have shared all we know about our smashing Pre-school group to help them settle at their new schools in September as smoothly as possible. We have also assured teachers we will be at the end of the telephone if they need any further details about our children’s needs or development once they start in September. This year has been a little different and we have concentrated much more on making sure the schools know about our children’s personalities, what makes them happy or sad and how they can feel really safe and secure as they start their new adventures at primary school in addition to where they are in terms of their development.👩👧👦
The children that have returned to nursery following the break have literally amazed us, they have adapted so well to not having as many of their friends here as they would probably prefer and to some of our new nursery rules and we just know that our children setting off for ‘big school’ will do us proud too!!🌈
Kerry and team xx
Our community shop is reopening today from 10am-2pm, we have all safety guidelines and recommendations in place and look forward to welcoming everyone back for a bargain!!🛍See you soon x
Hi everyone, I’m sorry it’s been a while since a post but we we have now chatted to most of you on the phone and it’s been great to hear what everyone has been up to while the children have been at home.
The children and staff who have returned to nursery have been having a lovely time as planning and observations continue, we have took advantage of the weather being a little unpredictable this week to do some gardening, weeding became a fun activity!!🌱
We have enjoyed listening to the story of Snow White, created our own self portraits and used apples and paint to make prints.🍎
Of course we have also been busy making gifts and cards for Sunday! 💙
We hope everyone continues to be keeping well, occupied and happy!!😊xx
Good morning everyone, thanks so much for continuing to send pictures and posts of what the children have all been up to during their time away from nursery.
Can I remind you to also upload some pictures and comments to the Learning Journals as these will be so helpful to the staff when we all come together again in continuing to monitor the children's learning and development.
Keep safe, well and busy and hopefully we can all safely return to nursery in the not too distant future.
Kerry and team x
If anyone is having any difficulty accessing the Learning Journals, let me know by email at [email protected]
