🎉 GCSE Results Day is almost here! 🎉

We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 students on Thursday as they collect their GCSE results and celebrate all their hard work and achievements.

We encourage students to bring their parents and carers along to share this special moment together. ❤️

Our staff will be available throughout the morning to offer advice, guidance and support, whether you are celebrating your next steps or discussing your future options.

🎉 What a Week at New Road Academy! 🎉

We’ve been so busy welcoming our brand‑new Year 7s to Summer School that we almost forgot to share the final celebrations of our academic year — and what a week it’s been.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we headed back to Alton Towers with our brilliant Year 8s, Year 9s and even more of our Year 10s. The sunshine, the laughter, the rollercoasters, the teamwork — our students made every moment count and represented the academy with pride.

Then on Friday, we rounded off the year with our Rewards Breakfast Celebration followed by our Rewards Assemblies. Over 700 students have been recognised just this week, with hundreds more celebrated throughout the year.

New Road Academy truly lives its values of Ambition, Respect and Courage. We are incredibly proud of every single one of our students and everything they have achieved.

Here’s to a fantastic end to the year — and an exciting new one ahead. 💙

🎢 Alton Towers Highlights! 🎢

We then continued our rewards again today! Our Year 7s — along with a fantastic group of Year 10s — enjoyed a brilliant day at Alton Towers, filled with laughter, teamwork, and plenty of adrenaline. From big‑smile rollercoaster moments to supportive friendships throughout the park, students represented our school beautifully and made memories to last.

A huge thank you to Alton Towers for hosting such a rewarding and joyful experience.

✨ Chester Zoo Visit – A Wonderful Day of Discovery ✨

Next in our end of year rewards celebrations has been our amazing visit to Chester Zoo. Our students enjoyed an exceptional visit to Chester Zoo yesterday, engaging fully with the learning opportunities and demonstrating exemplary conduct throughout the day. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and respect for the environment were evident as they explored the diverse habitats and observed the remarkable range of species cared for by the zoo.

We extend our sincere thanks to Chester Zoo for providing such an enriching experience. It was a rewarding day that celebrated learning beyond the classroom and offered students a memorable opportunity to connect with the natural world.

📢 Alton Towers Update 📢

Students have had a lovely day!

Coach 2 ETA is 7.20pm as planned.

Unfortunately, there has been a delay with Coach 1 and the ETA is now 8pm. We are sorry for this delay, but it is out of our hands.

Any further changes, students will be asked to contact home.

We were delighted to work with National Trust Attingham Park / Sunnycroft throughout this academic year with some Y7 students.

They took part in an extended project where they learned about nature, gardening, farm to fork, insects and a whole lot more. They produced art work, grew vegetables, tried healthy snacks and generally enjoyed nature!

Here are a selection of photos from that project. We were so proud of them all for their enthusiasm, hard work and great manners with the volunteers throughout. Well done!

DAY 4 - What a day it’s been! Water park, rollercoasters, Dutch pancakes, ice cream… and to top it all off, another fantastic concert!

The students absolutely smashed their performance tonight. Here’s a quick photo from the venue before we set up and got ready to perform.

We’ve taken hundreds of photos and videos over the last few days, so keep an eye on the page—there’ll be plenty more to come from the concerts, performances and all the amazing memories we’ve been making!

✨ Continuing our rewards celebrations! ✨

Last week, we were delighted to be invited to Wellington Orbit with a group of our fantastic students.

It was a brilliant morning — not just enjoying a film together, but also giving our students the chance to see the amazing facilities available right here in our own town. They absolutely loved it.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Orbit team for welcoming us so warmly. We can’t wait to come back!
