Beaumaris Singers

Beaumaris Singers Beaumaris Singers are an auditioning choir based in Newport, Shropshire.

The choir sings both a cappella music and major works with orchestra from an extensive repertoire spanning five centuries. The choir is equally at home with lighter repertoire, providing entertainment at social and charity events and music for weddings. Rehearsals: The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings during school terms, at Cosy Hall, Newport, Shropshire.

· We invite visitors to experience a choir rehearsal before deciding to apply or having an informal audition.

· We rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Cosy Hall, Newport, (TF10 7LD) but members come from a very wide area. Beaumaris Singers was Choir of the Day in three successive Sainsbury Choir of the Year competitions and also BBC Radio Shropshire Choir of the Year. It has issued two CDs: Tracks in the Snow (Christmas music recorded with the Jackfield Elcock Reisen Band) and Of Birds and Bees (a selection of a cappella pieces). In 2005 it was invited to form the semichorus for the West Midlands Making Music Northwest performance of Elgar's Dream of Gerontius in Symphony Hall, Birmingham. The choir has broadcast on radio on three occasions, and has performed with Russell Watson in Manchester and Birmingham.

🎶 COME ON, TENORS & BASSES — WHERE ARE YOU?! 🎶

Edit: an apology to any lady Tenors who may have felt excluded by the previous wording.

The upper voices are outnumbering you! 👩‍🎤👩‍🎤👩‍🎤

Our Fauré Requiem Singing Workshop is attracting plenty of enthusiastic singers — but the upper voices are currently showing the lower voice sections a clean pair of heels when it comes to numbers!

Surely you’re not going to let them have it all their own way? 😉

If you’re a tenor or bass, this is your chance to redress the balance — come along, sing some glorious Fauré, meet other singers and enjoy a fantastic afternoon of music (and homemade cake! 🍰).
