Dear Parents & Carers,
We continually assess our menus and the meals on offer at Central Park Nursery, to check salt levels are still low, that children are accessing a wide variety of meals and that we are doing the most we can to ensure that children are meeting their 5 portions of fruit and veg per day.
Some minimal amendments have been made which can be seen on our Menu board located in the Foyer.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents and carers that healthy eating habits should also be extended to the lunchboxes you provide.
A main meal lunchbox should include
- A sandwich, wraps, cooked pasta, crackers etc. with a low salt content.
- At least one fruit/veg portion that the child enjoys
- A yoghurt or other dairy product
- You can provide 1 small ‘treat’ item which we will give to your child while the others are accessing nursery pudding.
Please note we are nut free nursery and lunchboxes also cannot contain nuts including products such as ‘Nutella’. Please check all products before providing them. Items including nuts will not be given to your child.
For more lunchbox ideas you can access the website:
All children will be offered a cup of milk each day as part of the free milk scheme. (Allergy dependent)
We will not be supplying ‘squash’ or ‘cordial’ to any child at nursery as part of our healthy teeth initiative. If you feel that your child will not drink water, then you may provide a bottle of ‘squash’ which must be sugar free. This will be diluted well by the practitioners in your child’s room. Fizzy drinks will not be permitted.
If you have any further questions please ask a member of the management team.
Christmas cards
🎄Order forms should have now been sent home for the children's Christmas Cards.
🎁They need to be returned with cash payment by 14th October. This is to ensure they are back by the end of November.
🎅Please ensure the forms are not bent as they will not be able to be used.

Thank you for your cooperation.

New guidance states that all children should have 180 minutes physical activity every day. We have been reviewing practise as to how we can make this attainable and one thing we have looked at is reducing the amount of time practitioners take to apply sun cream to the children.
We have a new Sun Cream policy in place, asking all parents to ensure that sun cream is applied before coming into nursery. We will then top it up throughout the day as necessary. This means they can get straight out after breakfast.
More information and new sun cream forms which need completing can be found in the foyer.
