Pupils from Year 6 participated in a tag rugby tournament this week, held at Harberdasher Abraham Darby School. They played brilliantly as Team Ants and always supported and encouraged each other. It was wonderful see see them all rise to the challenge and represent our school. They came 3rd in the group stage and qualified for a final placement match which they won 6 - 2! Well done! We are all so proud!πŸ’™πŸ’›

Mrs Tamplin would like to say a massive well done to Team Ladygrove at the Year 3/4 girl’s tournament this week. This is only the 2nd time the team have played together, and they did a fantastic job with some amazing saves from Chloe, a Mary Earps in the making! It was wonderful to see so many happy faces even though they did not win, they still held their heads high! Well done girls!πŸ’›πŸ’™

Year 6 had an amazing time during our trip to Cadbury World! They were wonderfully behaved and made us very proud. We took part in a workshop about the Mayans, watched some demonstrations about tempering chocolate and even had a go at drawing with chocolate ourselves. We also enjoyed the 4D cinema, the park and, of course, the chocolate tasting! πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ«

We had an assembly this week with Mickey Bushell, our Blue House Captain. The children were amazed at how successful he has been as a paralympic champion. The children were invited to ask questions about his life challenges and successes. We found out everything from how he drives, cooks, sleeps to how he has become a successful athlete. We would like to say a massive thank you to Mickey for inspiring our school children in challenging themselves and being resilient.πŸ’™πŸ’›

Year 4 have had a fantastic first week back at Ladygrove and have been working super hard! In Maths we worked as Team Ants to solve some tricky problem-solving questions, in English we performed and wrote our own Cinquain Poems and in French we had lots of fun reading sentences about the face parts and drawing aliens to reflect these. πŸ’›πŸ’™

Year 6 were Team Ants in their class sharing assembly about internet safety. We shared some of our knowledge, took part in a quiz about age restrictions for certain apps and sang a song about internet safety as well! We then worked with our parents to look at some scenarios and work out what we would do in each situation.
