At stay and play on Monday 23rd May 9.30-11am we will be exploring blocks and colour!We will have the foam blocks to build and balance, the coloured sensory blocks to explore, stacking and sorting blocks and getting messy with duplo painting!
Sadly this will be our last session for a while as we focus on more new starters to the nursery - we would like to thank all our families who have joined us and we have loved seeing all the little ones grow and develop, we will let you all know on here if we restart our stay and play sessions in the future!
We are exploring lots of different colours at stay and play on Monday 16th May!
We will have the sensory light table with the sensory bottles, fun finding the coloured objects in the shredded paper and getting messy with the colourful edible paint!See you all there 9.30-11am 😀

We are exploring nursery rhymes this week with the soft blocks to make Humpty Dumpty’s wall, nursery rhyme books and soft toys, exploring the different animal sounds for down in the jungle and lots of messy play!

We are so proud of all our Preschool children taking part in the Easter bonnet parade and sing song today! They loved showing off their bonnets and singing all the songs - thank you for coming along and joining in with our songs too 😊
We are looking forward to our stay and play session on Monday 25th April. We are exploring different textures with shredded paper play, textured cars and books. We will also be having fun with the paint to create St. George’s flags and lots more! See you all there 9.30-11am
Hope you all have a lovely Good Friday!Heres some of the photos for our April Farm on Wheels visit earlier this month. Its lovely to see all the children growing in confidence with the animals as they watch them grow! We got to see the very first egg the hen laid, we saw how much the chicks had grown from the last time we saw them and we loved holding the baby bunnies and Guinea pigs! Lots of the children have been asking for Stella to bring a cow to the nursery and they finally got to meet Bluey the calf! We can't wait for our next visit.
Just a reminder that as it’s the Easter holidays there will be no Stay and Play for the next two weeks - we look forward to seeing you all soon 😊

Last week in Preschool our topic was Green!
We celebrated St Patrick's Day, painting four leaf clovers and searching for gold coins in the spaghetti! We discovered some new flavours, trying green foods for snack including sugar snap peas, cucumber, green paper and kiwi!
We followed instructions to make potato and spinach cakes! They were very different but we listened really well and worked hard to make them!
The weather's looking good for tomorrow - nice, dry and warm - with a gentle breeze - but we don't mind that after some of the recent stuffy weather!

Toddler have been focusing on summer holidays.
We have made paper aeroplanes and then threw them in the air, coloured in a bucket and spade, made a seaside picture by drizzling glue and then sprinkling sand on, collage packing a suitcase, role played going on a aeroplane and made an aeroplane out of play dough.

We have been learning about different sports this summer.
We have had lots of fun role playing in the tuff tray with a tennis court made out of chalk and one made out of green shredded wheat. We made volley ball out of playdoh and created a cricket match using sand and blocks.
We got very creative by glue and sticking a tennis ball, painting a football, Mark making a rugby ball and made a string basket ball net.
We also enjoyed trying some yummy strawberries and cream for our snack.

This week we have been learning all about minibeasts! 🐌🐛🐜🐝🐞
We have enjoyed searching our garden for minibeasts, checking them off on the list! We loved messy play in the soil, using magnifying glasses and tweezers to find the minibeasts! To test out knowledge we organised the insects into legs and no legs categories. We have developed our number skills by giving the keyboards the right amount of spots!
We have had a lovely sunny week!🌞

This week in Toddler's we have continued our theme of Minibeasts and we concentrated on things that crawl.
We went on a big hunt in the garden and we made playdough spiders. We enjoyed lots of water play outside too.

This week we are focusing on child safety week.
We have enjoyed making our own traffic lights using coloured tissue paper in the tuff tray and have also finger painted some traffic light pictures.
We made some hand print flames and explored some Orange play dough when learning about fire.
We also enjoyed making stop signs and a paper plate police man.

It’s buzz week for our theme of mini beasts in Toddlers.
We have done lots of painting, playdough and collage activities to make our own bee. We also enjoy playing in the honey coloured water and used the pots and spoons to make honey for the bees. We have used the tweezers to pick up different items on the tray and then pretending that they are bee’s.
Outside we saw some bee’s flying around and then we ran round the garden, flapping our arms pretending that we were a bee.

This week we are learning all about Caterpillars. Over the bank holiday our caterpillars emerged from their cocoons into beautiful butterflies!

We have been focussing on caterpillars, we have matched the legs to the correct numbers, made repeating patterns with beads and moulded play-doh to create our very own caterpillars!
We have discussed our favourite foods, some of us love cake and watermelon just like The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🐛

We had a great time on our Teddy Bears picnic this week at Chetwynd Deer Park. We explored the story "We're going on a bear hunt" by acting out the story in the field, we hunted for the bears around the garden and we drew some pictures of our bears! Our Teddy bears loved sitting with us to have our picnic too 🐻

We have been busy in the tuff tray using our different sense to explore a variety of fruit and vegetables. We have also been pretending to keep the animals and small world people healthy by pretending to feed them lettuce, cucumber and spring onions.
We have also been getting creative by making hand print watermelons, bubble wrap fruit, glue and stick vegetable pictures and painting fruit pictures.

We have been doing lots of activities for our topic Spring animal's.
We made chicks with the yellow play dough, painted our own bunny, made a sheep (white) chocolate rice krispie cake and we used the chalk to draw a lamb on the black paper!
Outside we have been chasing and popping the bubbles and looking at stories in the book den.

We have been learning about the spring weather. We enjoyed having the parachute outside to make wind and we loved the parachute games of up and down, shake and stop, ring o roses and crawling underneath.
We have also made cloud pictures, rainbow pictures and we squirted the spray bottles to make rain.
We loved making sausage rolls they were yummy.

This week we have been reading the story stickman! We have engaged in lots of fun activities. We followed instructions to make shortbread as a group. We listened carefully and used our maths skills to weigh out the right measurements! We used cookie cutters to make stickman shapes. They were yummy!
We had a look at some of our family photos, we talked about different family types and dynamics and even had fun drawing our family trees!
We went on a stick hunt in the mud kitchen, we carefully collected them into a wheelbarrow to whilst counting! We worked as a team and collected lots! We then brought them inside and gave them a wash with some warm soapy water!

This week it’s been vegetarian week. We have had lots of fun exploring different vegetables in the home corner, outside in the mud kitchen and inside in our homemade Bourbon biscuit soil.
We have painted with broccoli and we made our own Hawaiian pizza wrap.

This month in woddler room we have been celebrating St Patrick's day and Red nose day and Holi.

We have been busy in the tuff tray exploring some green rice, green playdough, a shredded wheat four leaf clover and mark making four leaf clovers.

We have been getting creative making fingerprint rainbows, paper plate pots of gold, hand print Leprechauns. We have made some red fingerprint love hearts to celebrate Holi and also done some red circle stamping for red nose day.

This week we have focussed on the colour Yellow!
We started the week by looking at different foods that are yellow! We discovered that there are lots of fruits and vegetables that are yellow! 🍋🍌🍍🌽 For snack we did some food tasting, we loved seeing where the different fruits were from in the world! Using the lemons, we made lemon drizzle cupcakes, we followed directions using our brilliant listening ears and they turned out delicious! We loved having them for our afternoon snack! We inspected daffodils, learning the names for the different parts including, stem, flower and bud! We used paint to then make our own pictures of the daffodils! We developed our maths skills, estimating how many flowers we had in a bunch and the counted them carefully to check out estimations! We have had a lovely week☺

We have been learning about Farm animal's. We have been using the plastic tweezers to pick up the cotton wool balls (sheep) and we then put them in egg carton (pen). We have also been sponge painting a cow on the paper plate and we have made a sheep painting too.
