Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll.
We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll.
It does not seem long ago that we were celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee with the children. We will continue to celebrate the Queen’s life at Chipmunks with the children to ensure that we maintain a positive environment at such a sad time.
When change happens it is important that we speak as much as possible to our children to explain what is happening.
We will continue to celebrate the life of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. We will talk about her and focus our activities on the monarch to support the children’s interests over the coming days.

To celebrate England's first euro football match last week Chipmunks Brookside had a football day. The babies, toddlers and pre-school all joined up on the field to take part in some ball related games and had loads of fun. The children dressed up in sporty clothes, football kits and their favourite bright colourful outfits. Lot's of team work with some team photo's at the end.
Come on England!⚽️⛹️⛹️♀️
Busy babies at Brookside Chipmunks - a discovery walk and a teddy bear's picnic! It looks like they have had a lovely time. 😘
There has been lots going on in the toddler room at Chipmunks Brookside. They have been exploring vegetables and making vegetable soup in the mud kitchen! Tea bag painting, car ramp painting and having fun with a car wash. It sounds like they have had a great time!
Pre-school Brookside, have been having lots of fun in the sun with their new firepit. They cooked sausages and made smores using marshmallows and chocolate biscuits. The children sat around the firepit and sang songs while they waited for the fire to settle ready to cook the food for dinner. It was lovely to sit and talk about all the children's experiences and special times at home as well as reflect on all the fun exciting moments we have in preschool.
The Pre-school children did a fabulous job this morning at the Chipmunks Brookside sports day. They have been practicing so hard the past few weeks in preparation for this. They were confident, eager and very competitive! Pre-school had a mini ceremony afterwards to award the certificates and medals to all the children, who are now proudly telling everyone they are the champions 🙂 It was lovely to be with the parents again celebrating all the children together! What a turnout!
Always remember the Pre-school motto:
We are strong 💪
We are kind 🙂
And we can do anything!
Thank you to all the mums, dads and friends who cheered us on. Well done Pre-school you are all winners xx
Remember to send your little ones to nursery with sunscreen and a hat
Thank you 🌞

Chipmunks stirchley & Brookside raised a whopping £400 for comic relief Thank you to all who donated 😘
Chipmunks Pre-school Brookside have been planting in the garden this week, they planted fruit trees. They planted a plum, apple and pear tree in the garden. It was super fun to work together as a team to plant them. The children said that they will look forward to watching them grow just like us because everyday we grow that little bit more. Our trees are going to be strong like us! One of the children asked "Can we talk to them everyday and use our special magic to make them grow"
'Happiness is quality time with friends and family. Incorporate hygge into everyday life'.
At Chipmunks Brookside the children take their own personal hygiene very seriously. The children have been doing lots of activities to support this. Sometimes those germs are so tough to get off.................................
Tash brought in an old wasp nest from home. We have enjoyed looking at life cycles of different creatures so looking at a real life wasp home was awesome. Spiders have been our favourite focus and one came walking out of the nest! We watched the spider as he hid under the table, we followed his every move with the magnifying glass but it got a bit chaotic when he started chasing us, he may have been small but some of us were very scared but we all laughed and screamed in delight!
World Book Day - Chipmunks Brookside.
We read the story of the gingerbread man and created our own gingerbread men. Would you believe it two gingerbread men escaped! We went on a hunt and followed the trail of crumbs, we found the gingerbread in the outside area. Afterwards we decorated our biscuits which we then ate all up and they was delicious!
The Pre School children had another busy day, we used one of our favourite books "The Tiger that came to tea" by Judith Kerr as a focus. This triggered lots of fun and new learning. The children created tiger masks so that they could be tigers. "Just like the one in the story" the role play area hosted lots of tea parties. The children really wanted to make their own tea party and wondered if the tiger would come along. We cooked biscuits and the children made their own sandwiches, they were very tasty, thankfully the Tiger stayed away, the children enjoyed their food. We talked about how Sophie and her Mummy were kind to the Tiger and shared all of the food, with this in mind and with your kind donations (Thank you, all) of tins, packets and biscuits some of the children set off to our local food bank and donated all of the food collected. Lots of the children talked about and understood why this was not only a kind thing to do but very important too. What a busy but wonderful day.
What a lovely sunny Friday, The children were keen to go for a walk and explore. After discussing what we hoped to see we set off! We came to what some of the children thought might be a "Pirates Telescope" On further inspection they decided it was "so dark inside" and could not be a telescope. We spotted some flowers growing and the children remembered how we had planted some flowers in the Nursery garden. We were all fascinated by how the squirrels could hop from branch to branch without falling off. After a pit stop and fun at the park we had a go climbing the trees just like those light footed squirrels. Before heading back for lunch we gave some of the leftover bread to the ducks. We all headed back to nursery with rosy red cheeks looking forward to this afternoon's adventures.
'The tiger who came for tea' - “He ate all the supper that was cooking in the saucepans… all the food in the fridge and all the packets and tins in the cupboard.”
Pre-school started the week by reading the story, they then made cakes and biscuits ready for a tea party. However, today they discovered the Tiger had been in the pre-school overnight and had eaten everything from the kitchen. he was a very hungry tiger!
Look who we have been to visit today.....................
Photos from Bare Treats's post
Pre-school ended the week doing junk modelling. The children have made some amazing creations which they look forward to painting this week too. The children created dinosaurs, butterflies, cars and even presents for their friends. I am sure that you are looking forward to the children bringing them home!
On 'Wellbeing Wednesday' The children took part in a yoga session, they followed instructions really well and were curious to discover the effect the activity had on their bodies. The children are practicing their breathing and the yoga phrase Namaste.
