Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby Showband & Senior Jazz Band performed in the finals of the National Concert Band Festival at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Showband where 1 of only 5 school wind bands to compete and play a set in front of professional adjudicators and Jazz Band were 1 of only 7 school jazz bands to do the same.
To be performing at this event is an achievement in itself in this post Covid era where many music ensembles have ceased to even exist. Jazz Band gained a gold award and Showband gained a platinum award.
All band members have put in much time and effort to achieve this standard, the dedication and commitment they give to the school is incredible.

Amazing homework efforts from year 7 RE students!

10/3/23 Haberdashers' Abraham Darby will remain closed today due to adverse weather conditions and safety concerns.

09/03/23, 10:10am: As a result of worsening weather conditions, we have taken the difficult decision to close the school today. We have already been in contact with parents and carers via email to notify them. Staff are on-site with pupils who are currently unable to return home. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions.

9/3/23. We are anticipating that this evening’s commute, for parents & staff who live & work further afield will be a challenging one. As a result, we have taken the decision to cancel the Y11 parents evening scheduled for this evening. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Our French students have been lucky enough to see the Onatti Theatre Company who came in to perform La Maison Hantée. The play was spoken all in French and there were many “Ah ha! I understand it!” moments and belly laughs to be had. A few of our KS3 students were even involved on stage!
