What a wonderful day yesterday, delivering one of our new workshop contexts for this year at In-Comm Training & Business Services π
Weβve been working hard to align our new workshop contexts with the companies that support the funded programme, and yesterday we had the opportunity to try out our newly designed βApprenticeship Taster Dayβ challenge, linked to Brandauer
The challenge? π οΈ
Students were asked to design and manufacture a prototype tool capable of cutting or creating as many impressions as possible on a piece of tin foil.
And oh my goodnessβ¦ the Year 11 students from really stepped up to the challenge! π
To put their achievement into context, they had just 2Β½ hours to design, manufacture, test and refine their solutions, all using traditional materials and processes.
The creativity, problem-solving and determination on display were fantastic. Seeing an idea move from a sketch to a working physical prototype in such a short space of time is exactly what makes Design & Technology so special.
This is why I love my job. β€οΈ
As D&T teachers, we give young people the skills, confidence and opportunities to turn ideas into reality. We really do help students make the impossible possible.
A brilliant effort from everyone involved! ππ§βοΈ
