AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Capstan Setter Operator Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Wolverhampton.

Our client is independently owned and built on a wealth of industry knowledge, currently operating out of its 65,000 sq. ft stockholding, manufacturing and testing facility situated in the heart of the United Kingdom giving easy access to Britain’s roads and international shipping routes.

They are able to supply a comprehensive scope of certified fastener products using a wide range of material grades and surface coatings.

They are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and keen to progress within their growing company.

As a Capstan Setter Operator, you will report directly to the Production Manager. All production instructions will come from the planning department. You will frequently interact with other departments such as warehouse and quality personnel.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:
• Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Standards L2
• EAL Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) L2
• English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2

General Duties
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
• To set up and operate capstan lathes from job cards, works orders and/or engineering drawings.
• Set, maintain and use threading equipment such as Landmatic, Landis, Fette, Namco and Coventry die heads. (This includes chaser grinding).
• Select correct types of tools and grades suitable to the material to be machined.
• Measure and inspect the work produced in line with QA standards and instructions.
• Ensure production is conducted in a timely manner to meet customer delivery.
• Record production output and notify the production department of completed jobs.
• Perform routine maintenance on machine tools as required.
• Observe all safe working practices.
• Make recommendations for improvement wherever possible
• Health and safety

They are an online supplier that stock all kinds of saw blades, circular saws, bandsaws craftsman saws, plus chisels and bits, knives and irons, all of which are despatched from their UK base.

The successful candidate will be hard-working, keen to learn and have good attention to detail.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

You will be a key part of the team responsible for the creation of bespoke workwear, sportswear, and uniform apparel. They provide a wide range of products through manufacturing garments, sewing & embroidery, printing and sublimation. As the apparel manufacturing apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills whilst working amongst a vastly experienced team.
