Some helpful hints on chickenpox….

Chickenpox is going around again! Please remember NOT to give your children nurofen/ibuprofen if you think your child has it.

This type of medicine is an anti-inflammatory. It reacts with the chickenpox making them go deeper into the skin tissue, potentially causing a more severe secondary infection.

Better options:
👶Paracetamol for fever
👶Calamine Lotion for the itch
👶Keep your child hydrated

Always seek medical advice.

Job Vacancy!

Trench Tots Nursery is looking for someone to join the team!

We have a full time permanent position available from the beginning of May 2021.

We are looking for someone who is Level 3 qualified in Early Years.

Applicants will need experience of working with children across the ages of 0-5 years. You will have good knowledge of the EYFS and how to plan, prepare and implement activities to assist the children’s development. You should be able to manage a key group of children confidently.

Trench Tots Nursery is looking for an individual to join our staffing team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working person who has experience working with children.
This is a temporary position and will be a monthly rolling contract.
The hours will be 2pm - 6pm Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime.
Childcare qualification is preferred but not essential.
Start date Tuesday 6th April.

We must prioritise the safety of our children, families and staff. Many schools are closing tomorrow, causing our staff childcare issues and therefore operational problems at nursery.

We had a fabulous first week back at nursery last week with the reopening of our Inventors room. We were so pleased with how the children adapted to new nursery life that we wanted to share with you how much fun they had in their bubbles😃🎨

Hi guys
I just wanted to wish all those who are starting to return back to nursery tomorrow good luck!
We have worked incredibly hard during the closure to make it a safe place for the staff & families to return.

Unfortunately I’m not able to come back & join in the fun as some of you already know I’m due to ‘have a baby’ next month. 🤩 🍼
Having been at TT for over 16 years I couldn’t wait to share this journey with my nursery family but Covid had different plans.
I’ll still be working from home for a few more weeks yet so if you need anything just drop me an email.

I hope you & your little ones settle back into nursery life with ease & I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Dear Parents/Carers

We are sure many of you have questions after the governments proposed plan yesterday to reopen nurseries & some school years from June 1st.

This is a guideline of how they would like things to progress however there are many factors that we as a nursery have to take into account before a reopen date can be agreed.

It is important to realise that it will be a while until nursery will be operating fully as we know it.
It is highly likely that we will have to run on reduced childcare numbers until statistics show it is safe to increase them.
Key worker children & vulnerable children will be priority upon reopening.
We will also have to operate on slightly reduced opening hours.

The nursery management & committee are working together to produce a plan that will ensure the safety of all its families & staff.
This is of top priority & as previously stated there will be no compromise therefore can not be rushed.
We are expecting this to take affect towards the end of June, however as mentioned above this is currently under discussion.

Please be reassured that we are trying our best to continue to support our families during this very difficult time.

The guidance yesterday was aimed at schools, therefore we are still waiting for further guidance to come from the local authorities which is directed at Early Years.

We will update you as soon as we have further information.

Please know that there are no changes and nursery remains closed until further notice.

We will be considering the latest Government announcements and guidance and will continue to share information with you through our page and text messages.

We intend to support our community in anyway we can but with no negotiation on safety. At this time, adhering to social distancing requirements is essential and implementing this in our setting with very young children is almost impossible.

So with this in mind, please be patient with us as we set about the task of planning and preparing how we may be able to operate safely. Be reassured, the safety of our children, families and staff is paramount.

Dear parents/carers
As of Wednesday 18th March, all children are to be handed over to members of staff at reception.
This decision has been taken to try & prevent the spread of infection that may enter the nursery.
We are finding it very difficult to source more hand sanitiser therefore feel this is the safest option for the time being.
We are trying to take every step to avoid closure.
