A very close friend has written a book for kindle!
The book is aimed at lower primary school age about celebrating differences. If your little ones are interested in art, this book is inspirational: written and illustrated by the same woman, with the most beautiful drawings.

Last month we have been learning about our parents’ jobs.
Each week we have been role playing different jobs: learning about doctors, postal workers, cashiers and office workers. This has unraveled a range of learning opportunities from taking notes to counting fruit. We have still enjoyed celebrating special days: creating letters and delivering them to nearby neighbours for Valentine’s Day. February has been a month of valuing everyone around us and understanding our community.

Last month we were learning about our selves at Sammy’s Tiney Tots.
This was a wonderful first subject to get to know each other. Talking about favourites: games, colours, foods, songs. We had lots of fun singing heads, shoulders, knees and toes. Which led to comparing limbs and counting fingers. Understanding the difference between babies and toddlers, being a big girl/boy and helping our friends. Recognising what we can do and our friends are learning. We already have so much to be proud of and are settling so well.

Using experience as an early years educator and qualified teacher, involved in dozens of settings (nurseries and schools) to prep children for the world. School readiness is defined by many EYFS leaders as being ready socially, physically and intellectual. Inspired by research, Sammy’s Tiney Tots have a bespoke curriculum. Ensuring the learning is based around what our children need to flourish within their environment; Bridging any gaps, following the Early Years Foundation Stage, while building values and morals in line with our families and growing together. 🌱

Sammy’s Tiney Tots value movement in play. I, myself, love being active. I have been a member of grosvenor and pengwern rowing club and regularly attended Shropshire climbing before I grew pregnant with Joseph. Physical development is one of the early years foundation stage prime areas - a main focus for children; with physical development children can become confident and independent. Hence, Sammy’s Tiney Tots have regular walks, outdoor play and indoor climbing!
Good Eva- “increases hand-eye coordination skills in order to strengthen muscles; balance control improves motor skills (including dexterity) grip strength too!. In addition - kids will be less likely flatfeet. The sturdy construction of this product is perfect for children. It can withstand the majority if not all collapse when they push, step on and climb it. All wooden surface has been sanded down until there's nothing left but a soft shell to protect your little one from harm's way! This wooden climber is designed in such a way that it allows babies to find out what they're capable of starting from 6 months and up through 7 years. The smallest ones will develop their motor skills, as well as the ability to balance or grab on while climbing until finally reaching the topmost point where children can imagine themselves being confident with movement all by themselves!”

“I don’t need a coat” - You won’t hear It from us! 😄 At Sammy’s Tiney Tots we love getting suited and booted in our coats and wellies because there is so much to learn outside. From getting dressed, left and right foot, zippers and poppers,to learning about the big world around us. We are so lucky to live in Britain where the seasons are so beautiful. Sammy’s Tiney Tots learn how to protect ourselves from sunburn in the summer and frost bite in the winter. Currently we are having so much fun exploring the sounds and shapes of water. Water is everywhere in Telford at the moment so we are taking advantage of the nearby lakes, pools, parks and fields as we observe nature.

Tiney encourages us to create an environment in which children cannot help but learn.
This ensures resources are well thought out and cover the seven areas of learning in the early years foundation stage. I have experienced more than fifteen different settings each following different theorists with their own style. I have a great understanding of Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Montessori and Reggio Emilia and they have all influenced my setting. I have open book cases and wire baskets for children to lead their play, and choose their own resources. Materials are natural to simulate childrens senses, bringing rich smells, textures and tastes. Real world experience and items are used to allow children to develop authentic and meaningful experiences. Scenes and toys are regularly set up unfinished to motivate engagement, entice a feeling that they can accomplish the puzzle, pattern or sequence with ease. Above all the setting is embedded within my home: using similar colours, fabrics and patterns throughout the house to bring a homely feel inspired by hygge to this learning space.
