Good afternoon all,
People who know me well know that I can often put a song to most things. As I write this message to you today, the song in my head is by The Beatles called, ‘Getting Better’ and the lyric is, ‘It’s getting better all the time.’ This is how I feel about attendance this week as it is getting better (much better than last week), and it was great to share this positive news with the children in assembly this morning. I have my fingers and toes crossed that our attendance will now continue to grow 😊
Before I move on to our attendance graph, I would like to say a huge well done to our Y6s as their attitude towards their SATs this week has been exemplary. Well done all of you 😊
On to the attendance graph:
Last week, only two classes managed to break through the 96% mark but this week we have five classes!!!! Magnificent work, Classes 3, 9, 10, 13 and 14, great attendance means that you are maximising learning and improving your prospects 😊
Sadly, only one class managed to reach the 95%+ mark, which was Class 2. Great work Class 2, can we improve this next week? 😊
Year 5, Classes 11 and 12, I am really concerned about attendance is currently sitting below 90%. Please expect a letter from me about this next week ☹
Regular school attendance is an important part of giving children the best possible start in life. The aim should always be to attend 100% of the time. Children who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in exams which leads to narrower job prospects. Good attendance also shows future potential employers that a young person is reliable and committed.
If you would like to talk to me about attendance and punctuality either come in and see me or give me a call on 01952 386360.
Take care and have a good weekend 😊

Good morning all,
This will be the last attendance graph adjusted for Covid. The reason for this is that as of the 1st of April the Government has changed their guidance and from next week no absences will be recorded as Covid.
Only one class managed to achieve the school target of 96% and that was Class 9, a big well done to them.
Many Classes this week hit the 95% mark, and these were Classes 6, 14, 10, 12, 13, 7 and 5. Magnificent work everyone 😊
This week I have been playing with Excel and have ordered the classes from highest to lowest attendance. I think that this makes it more visual for you to see which classes are doing well with their attendance and which classes are currently struggling.
Punctuality is improving in the morning which is fantastic however it is not so good after school at the moment as I am seeing large groups of children sitting at the office after school. If you know that you are going to be late picking up your child, please can you phone ahead on 01952 386360 so we can ensure that there is an adult available to look after them. I have also asked the office staff to start logging late pickups and I will be starting to contact families directly if a letter is sent out after three late pick-ups.
As always, if you have any questions, please come in a chat with me.
Take care and I hope that you have a great weekend.
Mr Millington

Good morning all,
When the attendance came out last week the message was clear from you all, could you see the attendance figures adjusted when the Covid numbers are excluded from the original data. I am happy to do this temporarily but once our Covid numbers reduce again, I will start sharing our normal attendance data. This information will be different to the information that we have shared with the children in school. Thank you for your positive feedback about the attendance data 😊
This week:
Classes 10, 7, 8 and 9 deserve a big well done for achieving our 96% goal.
Classes 12,13 and 2 have also done very well by achieving our 95% goal.
A well-deserved round of applause to all the children in these classes – well done 😊
I continue to check the punctuality of children and I was really pleased by the news that Mrs Williams in the Office shared with me to say that more children than ever are getting into class on time. Looking at the information she shared with me, I still see the highest number of children coming late on a Monday morning. Let’s work hard together to reduce that number so all our children are getting the best possible start to the week.
As always, a big thank you for getting your children in on time and helping to maximise learning. I will be around next week again, to chat to families coming in late.
If you would like to chat with me about attendance, please come in and see me.
By working together, we can make a difference!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
Take care,
Mr Millington

Good morning all,
I hope that you are all enjoying the sunshine!
The dreaded sickness bug continues to work through Windmill this week which continues to hit our attendance.
There were a few classes that managed the 96% mark and one class that made it past the 95% mark. Well done to those classes. They are:
96% and above:
Class 4
Class 7
Class 11
Class 13
Between 95% and 96%:
Class 5
Well done to all these classes 😊
Children arriving late has also reduced again which is brilliant news but I have noticed that it is the same families who are arriving late. If you need any help and support, I am more than happy to help.
A big thank you for getting your children in on time and helping to maximise learning. As always, I will be around next week again, to chat to families coming in late.
If you would like to chat with me about attendance, please come in and see me.
By working together, we can make a difference!
Take care,
Mr Millington
