At The Linden Centre, we are pleased that we have always been a Mobile Phone Free School.

A reminder please that in line with the DfE guidance, mobile phones are not to be brought to school and must he handed in at the school office.

The Department for Education has said that all schools in England should follow new government guidance and be phone-free for the entire school day.

‘Mobile phones in schools’ explains how to develop, implement and maintain a policy that prohibits the use of mobile phones in school.

‘Communicating your policy for prohibiting the use of mobile phones in schools to parents’ has guidance on how to communicate with parents about your policy and facts and figures to support discussions.

‘Creating a mobile phone-free environment: school case studies’ gives examples of how primary and secondary schools have successfully implemented a mobile phone free-school environment.

📣SCHOOL IS CLOSED TODAY📣

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have made the decision to close the school for today due to the snow and ongoing weather conditions for all Staff, Students and Visitors.

This decision has been taken on health and safety grounds, particularly given the hazardous travel conditions and the fact that many of our students rely on taxi transport, which is also experiencing significant difficulties this morning. Ensuring the safety of our students and staff must always be our priority.

I appreciate that this decision may cause disruption and wanted to reassure you that it was not taken lightly. We deliberately delayed making the call in order to give the school every possible opportunity to open, but equally I wanted to provide families with as much notice as possible once it became clear that conditions were unlikely to improve safely.

Wow, 2025 has been a brilliant year for us at The Linden Centre.

We hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Students return to us on Tuesday 6th January, normal times.

We’re so proud of Jaxon, one of our Secondary students, who spent his weekend out selling poppies with his Army Cadet group in support of the Royal British Legion.

Jaxon showed wonderful dedication and community spirit, a fantastic example of our school values in action. 🇬🇧

Well done, Jaxon, and thank you for helping to honour and remember those who have served. ❤️

Last week’s victory earned them milkshakes today 🥤 and this week they’ve scored laptop time 💻.

National Teaching Assistants' Day!

Today’s the day we return back to School for the ! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful Summer break! 📚✏️📖🎓

Remember you need the following;

✏️ Equipment (Pen, Pencil, Ruler, etc)
💧 Filled Water Bottle

Please keep phones at home, or hand them into the Office on arrival.

📚✨ Back to School Arrangements! ✨📚

We hope all of our students and families are enjoying a happy, restful summer break. It has been wonderful to see the sunshine, hear about all the adventures, and know that our young people are recharged and ready for an exciting year ahead.

A reminder that:
📌 Monday 1st September – Teacher Training Day (school closed to students)

📌 Tuesday 2nd September – First day back for students

⏰ School starts at 9:00am (doors open at 9am, so please do not arrive earlier).

📝 All students should be in their classrooms by 9:10am – after this, they will be classed as late.

To help your child be ready for learning each day, please support them by:
✔️ Ensuring they attend school every day and on time
✔️ Making sure they have the right equipment (pencil case, water bottle, packed lunch or dinner money, completed homework)
✔️ Encouraging them to complete and return homework on time
✔️ Supporting with reading, spellings and handwriting at home
✔️ Talking positively about school and encouraging a good routine (bedtime, healthy breakfast, limited screen time before school)
✔️ Checking school letters, texts and updates so your child comes prepared for trips, PE days and events

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on Tuesday 2nd September at 9am. Until then, we wish all of our students and families a happy, safe and relaxing final week of the summer holidays. 🌞💫
