🧱✨ Sometimes the best learning happens when we think outside the box!

Our brickwork learners have been getting creative by experimenting with different brick patterns and designs during their practical sessions. From unique layouts to imaginative ideas, this is a fantastic way to combine technical skill with creativity. 👷‍♂️🎨

We love encouraging learners to bring their own ideas to life — building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and showing that brickwork is not just about construction, but craftsmanship too! 🔥

🎨 Cutting In 🎨

Last week, our Ignite learners focused on mastering the skill of cutting in—an intricate task that requires precision, control, and patience. They’ve done a fantastic job executing it!

Cutting in neatly is essential as it sets the standard for the entire finish. When painting edges—along ceilings, corners, or around trims—a clean, sharp line gives a professional look.

If it’s uneven or messy, it can stand out and affect the overall appearance of the room, no matter how well the rest is painted.

Just take a moment to appreciate the precision in this wall 👏

The effort that goes into bricklaying at this level is incredible—every measurement between bricks must be exact, and the level has to be checked and rechecked with each one laid. It takes patience, focus, and real skill.

That’s why we’re so proud of our Ignite learners 💪
They’ve shown just how powerful hands-on, practical learning can be. For many, this is where they truly shine—and the results speak for themselves!

A special shoutout to one of our learners who even gave up their day off to come in and help… now that’s dedication!

And a huge thank you to our tutor, Vince, for his incredible guidance and support throughout building these particular walls. His patience and commitment to helping learners understand the “how” and “why” behind each task has made a real difference.

As we reach the final stages of preparing our new premises, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone involved.

A special thank you to our construction tutor, John, for his expertise, support, and guidance while carrying out key construction tasks across the new site. We truly couldn’t have met our deadline without you!

We’d also like to recognise all the extra effort from our amazing team—whether that’s packing boxes, painting, cleaning, or continuing to deliver lessons through all the chaos. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed.

🎉 Big News at RENU Training Academy! 🎉

We’re delighted to share that we have successfully completed two External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits with NOCN, covering both Functional Skills and our Construction/Vehicle Maintenance provision.

Both visits were extremely positive, resulting in:

✅ No advisories
✅ A ‘Very Low’ risk rating

This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the dedication, professionalism, and hard work shown by our entire team every single day.

A huge thank you to all of our staff for your continued commitment to delivering high-quality education and training opportunities for our learners.

🔧🚗 Real workshop experience in action!

Our Ignite learners have been developing their vehicle maintenance skills by carrying out a rear back box replacement after identifying signs of wear and corrosion during a full vehicle inspection. 👨‍🔧✨

The old exhaust back box was looking tired and rusty, so it was time for an upgrade! The learner demonstrated excellent practical skills, confidence, and technical knowledge throughout the removal and fitting process — ensuring the new component was installed safely and correctly. 💪🔩

Hands-on learning like this helps build real industry experience and prepares our learners for the world of automotive work. Fantastic effort all round! 👏🔥
