Mrs Sixsmith, Mrs Watts, Mrs Newbold, Miss Schutte, Mrs Humphries and Mr Seddon-Doyle (Gary our caretaker!) are visiting schools in very remote villages in Nepal during the Easter holidays. Mrs Garraway is also joining us. 🥰

We would love to take as much Duplo and Mega Bloks out with us in our suitcases to give to the Nepalese teachers to use in their classrooms. If you have any you no longer use, please drop into school.

(Please note that the staff travelling to Nepal are all self-funding their trips😊).

Whole School Handwriting Competition!

Our very first handwriting competition was a huge success and it was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm from the children.
The children were asked to present a poem in their very best handwriting. Prizes were awarded to the child with consistently neat handwriting and another for the most improved handwriting. Choosing these winners was extremely difficult because everyone tried hard and presented their work beautifully. We had MANY very proud children and staff!

Here are some of our winners- hopefully we'll add more photos on later today!

We are so proud of all the children who went to Young Voices 2024 this year. Every child sang their hearts out and danced the night away. Over the last few months, these children gave up some of their lunchtimes and afterschool time to practise the songs and it certainly paid off! Miss Mogg was so impressed with their behaviour start to finish.

Don’t forget we have lots of books in school for children to borrow in addition to their normal school reading books.

We have our Little Library outside of the main school office- children are welcome to visit it with parents and carers to take books home. You are welcome to keep these books or return them once finished. We have had done lovely donations come into school this week which have been added to the Little Library for children to enjoy.

We have bought copies of books to support The Blue Peter Book Club. Children can borrow these books which are on display in the school entrance. You need to register your child online via The Blue Peter website to earn the special badge.

New into school is another mini library which is located outside Mrs Sixsmith’s office. Children can borrow from a wide selection of Little People, Big Dreams books. All we ask is that these books are returned to the shelves once your child has finished with them.

Happy reading everyone!

Yesterday, we were lucky to have Rachel, a special visitor from the SouthWater library in Telford, lead assemblies for both KS1 and KS2. Rachel shared valuable information about our local libraries, including how to get a library card and access books. She also explained the number of books we can borrow at once and how long we can keep them.

In the assembly, Rachel highlighted upcoming events at the library, like craft sessions, and she answered all the children’s questions. Rachel’s visit sparked lots of curiosity and enthusiasm about the wonderful world of libraries!
