Some of the best moments at the Rendezvous aren't planned for the camera.

They're the moments when somebody starts talking about something they
know, a few people stop to listen, somebody asks a question, and
before long a proper conversation has started.

That's what we love about this photograph.

Nothing staged. Nothing polished. Just knowledge being shared in a
field in Shropshire.

And that's really what the Rendezvous was created for.

There are people who have spent years learning their craft and people
who are just starting out. People who arrive with plenty of experience
and people who simply fancy trying something they've never done
before.

Nobody needs to prove anything.

You can watch from the back. Pull up a seat. Ask the daft question you
thought everybody else already knew the answer to. Have a go. Get it
wrong. Try again.

And somewhere during the weekend, somebody will almost certainly tell
you something you'll remember long after you've packed the tent away.

Because practical knowledge has always travelled best from one person
to another.

Not everything needs a screen, a tutorial or an instruction manual.

Sometimes you just need somebody willing to share what they know, and
somebody else willing to listen.

Practical knowledge. Shared experience. Real conversations.

That's what weekends like this are made of.

The Shropshire Rendezvous & Swap Meet returns on 24 & 25 July 2027,
with camping available for the full weekend.

Bring the tent. Bring your questions.

And leave a little room in your head for something you didn't know
when you arrived.

Community Not Customers.
Chris’s words get to the heart of why we put the Shropshire Rendezvous together.

The skills, demonstrations and trade stands all have their place. But what we loved seeing in 2026 was how people spent time together.

Stopping for a chat. Making room for someone to join in. Taking the time to help, explain or listen.

People arrived with different interests and different levels of experience, and found something in common.
That personal feel matters to us. Whether you’ve been coming since the beginning or you’re thinking about your first visit, we want you to feel part of the Rendezvous.

Come with friends, bring the family or come along on your own.

There’s room for a question, a story and a bit of a laugh along the way.

As we look ahead to 2027, that’s the part we want to hold on to: good people giving their time, sharing what they know and enjoying being together.

Shropshire Rendezvous & Swap Meet takes place on 24 & 25 July 2027, at Upper Farm, near Gretton, Shropshire.

Camping is available from 3 pm Friday 23 July to 11 am Monday 26 July if you’d like to make a weekend of it.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming plenty of new ones.

THE CONVERSATION

One of the best things about the Rendezvous has never been something you can put on a timetable.

It’s the conversations.

You’ll stop to look at somebody’s kit, ask how they made something or where they learnt a particular skill, and twenty minutes later you’re still stood there talking.

Someone will show you a better way of doing something. Someone else will have tried exactly what you’re thinking about trying. You’ll hear stories, swap ideas, pick up a few tips and probably end up talking about something completely different from where you started.

That’s what weekends like this are about.

There’s a lot of knowledge around the field, but nobody’s standing there pretending to know everything. People talk, people share what they’ve learnt, and everybody goes home knowing a little bit more than when they arrived.

So if you’ve got a question, ask it.
If you know something worth sharing, share it.

You never know where one good conversation will lead.
