𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲.

Let's put some numbers around this debate.

When Labour talks about helping businesses, it's worth remembering what happened to the cost of employing people.

Employer National Insurance:

𝟏𝟑.𝟖% → 𝟏𝟓%

And the earnings threshold at which employers start paying it:

£𝟗,𝟏𝟎𝟎 → £𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎

That's a significant additional cost for businesses employing people.

Now we're being told that pubs, clubs and live music venues will receive a 20% reduction in business rates from April 2027.

Again — we welcome the reduction.

But businesses don't pay just one tax.

They pay National Insurance.
They pay business rates.
They pay VAT.
They pay wages.
They pay energy bills.
They pay rent and insurance.

So the real question is simple:

Are businesses genuinely better off after all of Labour's changes — or are we just being encouraged to celebrate one reduction while ignoring everything else?

Don't take our word for it.

Look at the numbers and decide for yourself.

A huge shout out to the RV supporters and everyone who donated items or purchased tickets at the WMSAR tombola. Any medical items left over go into the teams equipment & the other kit is saved for next year.

Over £1100 pounds was raised to allow these folks to keep saving lives and performing rescues in the West Midlands.

Well done to James for sorting it all out and writing the thank you letters. Time for me to get blagging for next years RV.
