October Happy Healthy Active Holidays (HHAH) Bookings Now Open

Information for Parents and Carers

We are pleased to let schools know that the Happy Healthy Active Holidays (HHAH) October Half Term booking system is NOW LIVE!

This year, families can access a wide range of Happy Healthy Active Holiday Club activities taking place throughout the October half-term holiday. The programme offers children and young people opportunities to take part in fun, engaging activities while staying active and enjoying healthy food.

The HHAH programme is available to children and young people who are eligible for Targeted Free School Meals, with a range of activities available across the borough during the holiday period.

Due to the changes to Free School Meal eligibility that came into effect in September 2026, we have secured Crisis Resilience Funding to support families affected by these changes who now fall within the expanded Free School Meals eligibility criteria. In addition, through recently awarded Crisis Resilience Funding, we are able to offer additional holiday club places to support families who may be experiencing financial hardship. This funding will help ensure that more children and young people can benefit from accessing enriching activities and healthy meals during the October half term.

We would be grateful if your school could share this information with parents and carers within your school community and encourage eligible families to book their places as soon as possible.

Year 3 had an amazing time at Outback 2 Basics last week. We had great fun learning all about what life was like during the Stone Age. We got to try on some of the clothes they wore, handle some of the animal bones and have a look at the tools they used. In the afternoon, we worked together in groups to build a den, which had to undergo the ultimate waterproof test!

Great performance

Well done to our Year 6 football team who tonight competed in the Telford & Wrekin School Sports Partnership Football Tournament.

The boys drew their 1st game 0-0, narrowly lost their 2nd match 1-0, conceded right at the end of their 3rd game to draw 1-1 and then lost their last game 2-0. The last loss was definitely Mr James’ fault as we went all out attack to try and win the game.

We couldn’t be any prouder of the boys, especially as this was the first game of the season for all the boys in this team. All those draws and losses could have easily been wins, as every game tonight was end to end.

Special mention to our Goalkeeper and defence who made lots of saves and blocks all night, especially in our opening 0-0 game.

Missing Kits

We are currently missing three of our Ironbridge Interiors Football Kits.

If your child is pictured in one of the team photos below, could you please check at home if you still have the kit.

The kit will include a shirt and black Joma shorts and socks.

We know its a beautiful kit, but we need it back please :-)

4SM have been enjoying Forest School in the sunshine for the past two weeks. The children have enjoyed finding wood to help build a boundary fence and learn how to tie secure knots. So far we have been incredibly lucky with the weather but as it is likely to become cooler and wetter, please remember to send waterproofs and wellies in on Tuesdays as the area is likely to become more muddy.

These Year 5 pupils took great pride in harvesting our home-grown potatoes, beans and a massive courgette!

On Wednesday the school netball team traveled to Telford Langley school to take part in a development tournament against other schools in our area. The children had a fantastic time and learned a lot about the game. We were all very proud of their attitude and sportsmanship during the afternoon

6TB had a wonderful time exploring Shrewsbury Prison on Wednesday. The children spent the morning experiencing what life would be like as a Victorian prisoner. We visited the various wings, learnt about the history of the prison and ex-prisoners that were kept here and even took a trip to the most haunted cell in the prison! Every child set the most fantastic example and represented Grange Park brilliantly. Well done 6TB!
