🌳🍃🍂 BIG NEWS 🍂🍃🌳
Telford has been named a 'Tree City of the World' by the United Nations!
Our town has joined New York City, Buenos Aires and Canberra as one of only 168 towns and cities globally to achieve the accolade.
🍃 The Tree Cities of the World programme - run by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations along with the Arbor Day Foundation - is a global effort to recognise cities and towns committed to ensuring that their urban forests and trees are properly maintained, sustainably managed and duly celebrated.
🍃 Through habitat restoration projects, wildlife protection, green space investment and skilful tree management, we are doing more than ever to support biodiversity, capture carbon and make our local environment even more attractive and enjoyable.
But this isn't the end - there’s always more to be done. So we will continue to care, protect and invest in our green infrastructure for everyone’s benefit.
👏 Thank you to every resident, volunteer and organisation helping to plant and care for trees in our borough.

Shrewsbury Food Festival beckons for The Little Green Pantry ! 🧈🥞
The Little Green Pantry will be at Shrewsbury Food Festival next month to promote a tasty selection of nut butters along with a range of other products.
The popular Wellington business has used one of our Pride in Our High Street diversification grants to buy a new nut butter machine and the butters are going down a treat with customers.
Over the two day event on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June, owner Keli King and her team will showcase 100% nut butters and take the machine on its first outing so customers can grind their own fresh peanut butter.
The team will also be displaying produce from other local suppliers to help promote some of the smaller businesses they support.
This is a great example of how a business has used a diversification grant to expand its product range and promote them to a wider audience.
You can find out more about the diversification grant and how to apply here: https://orlo.uk/3bgPi
