The Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest and most lethal apex predators to ever walk the Earth, ruling western North America until the dinosaur extinction 68-66 million years ago.
Despite its colossal size, a full-grown T-Rex could not actually run, instead moving at a fast walk of up to 15 miles per hour. It was a highly intelligent, sensory powerhouse, possessing eagle like depth perception and an exceptional sense of smell to track down its prey.
Rather than the loud movie roars we hear in this video clip, the T-Rex lacked vocal cords and likely produced a deep, low frequency bass rumble that vibrated right through the ground.

The Ankylosaurus was a massive, 8 ton herbivore built like a living tank. Low to the ground, short legged and slow moving. It relied on heavy duty physical features to survive the Late Cretaceous period alongside apex predators like the T-Rex.
Two large, triangular horns projected backward from the rear corners of its skull. These horns could protect the upper neck from ambush bites from above.
The end of the tail featured a heavy club made of massive, interlocking bony plates, allowing the ankylosaurus to swing this tail club like a sledgehammer to break the legs of attacking predators.
The skull bones were entirely fused together to maximise strength, creating an unbreakable dome, whilst its back and sides were covered in osteoderms (thick, bony plates) embedded directly into the skin to repel teeth and claws.

Meet Carnotaurus, the "meat eating bull" of the late Cretaceous period.
Roaming Argentina roughly 70 million years ago, this 25 foot long apex predator was built like a prehistoric race car. While it is famous for its comical, tiny arms which were even shorter than those of a T-REX, the Carnotaurus was a terrifyingly efficient hunter.
It is the only known meat eating dinosaur with two thick, bony horns above its eyes, likely used for visual displays or combat.
Remarkably, almost everything we know about this dinosaur comes from a single preserved skeleton discovered in 1984. This unique fossil even included fossilised skin impressions, proving the Carnotaurus was covered in rows of bumpy scales.
Thanks to large, powerful leg muscles, palaeontologists believe it was one of the fastest large theropods to ever walk the Earth, using sheer speed to chase down its prey.

The name Baryonyx literally means "heavy claw"
This incredible dinosaur sported a massive, curved thumb claw measuring a whopping 31 to 35 centimetres (12 to 14 inches) long! Discovered right here in England back in 1983 by amateur fossil hunter William Walker, Baryonyx walkeri used this giant meathook to swipe and spear heavy fish out of ancient rivers.

Diplodocus was a massive, lightly built plant eating dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Jurassic period. It is famous for its extreme length, short front legs, and peg like teeth used for stripping leaves from plants without chewing them. Its name means "double beam," referring to the unique protective bones under its long, whip Like tail, which it used for balance and defence alongside potential skin spines.

INFORMATION FILES: T-REX TOE CLAW... The bony core of a mature T-Rex foot claw typically measures 7 to 8 inches (18–20 cm) along the outer curve. With the living keratin sheath included, the claw reached over 10 to 12 inches (25–30 cm) in total length. It is likely the T-Rex used its heavy feet to pin struggling prey to the ground. However, unlike the sharp, curved hand claws of the Allosaurus or the sickle claws of raptors, T-Rex foot claws were blunt and built for stability rather than slicing open prey. The mighty T-Rex would rely on its powerful jaws to deliver a lethal bite. -REX museum

INFORMATION FILES: T-rex tooth. T-rex teeth were short, round, and thick. Their front teeth featured a stress-resistant "D-shape" cross-section, anchored by massive hidden roots that were significantly longer than the visible six-inch crowns. A T-rex could continuously shed and replaced individual teeth throughout their entire lifespan.
It looks like Ranger Rich didn't get the memo 😄 The Stage always belongs to the DINOSAUR!
