ACORNS ENJOY OUR LOCAL ENVIRONMENT
On Monday Acorn class went on a walk to Coombe Valley allotments as part of their topic ’how does your garden grow?’ On the way, the children were busy chatting about what they could see and hear, we even stopped to listen to a babbling stream.
When we got to the allotments the children were really interested to find out what was growing. We saw sage, purple broccoli, rhubarb, fennel, rosemary, daffodils and tulips. Of course we had to visit the park on our way back to school.
The children were little stars and it was wonderful to listen to their conversations about the world around them. A big thank you to Mrs Gitsham for providing access to the allotments and to the committee for allowing the children visit.
