I’M AN 11-YEAR-OLD GET ME OUT OF HERE

Our year 6s delighted us with their amazing, end-of-year performance of I’m An 11-Year-Old Get Me Out Of Here. It was a hilarious play and the children had worked so hard learning their lines, the songs and perfecting their parts. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of their primary journey.

NURSERY SPACE AVAILABLE

At Teignmouth Primary School, we are delighted to offer nursery places with government-funded childcare to help make high-quality early education more accessible and affordable for families.
Early Years Funding is government financial support that helps eligible families reduce the cost of childcare for children aged from 9 months until they start school. The funding gives more children the opportunity to benefit from high-quality early education while providing parents and carers with greater flexibility to work, study, or undertake training.

The scheme has two key aims:
β€’ Supporting children by providing access to high-quality early education that helps them develop, learn, and build the skills they need for a successful start at school and beyond.
β€’ Supporting families by easing the cost of childcare and helping parents balance work, study, or training with family life.

There are three types of Early Years Funding available:
β€’ Targeted 2-Year-Old Funding – for eligible families who meet specific criteria.
β€’ Universal Entitlement – available to all children from the term after they turn three.
β€’ Working Families Entitlement – additional funded childcare for eligible working families with children aged from 9 months.

In addition to funded places, we also offer paid nursery sessions, providing greater flexibility for families who require additional childcare beyond their funded entitlement or who are not eligible for funded hours.

We offer term-time nursery provision and accept all three types of Early Years Funding. Our experienced and caring staff provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can learn, play, and thrive.

If you would like to find out more about our nursery, check your eligibility for funded childcare, or arrange a visit, please contact the school. We would be delighted to help you.

IMPACT DAY REMINDER

Tomorrow, Mr Baxter will be running a World Cup themed Impact Day for years 1 – 6.
During the day, each year group will join Mr Baxter for a session where they will compete in a mini round robin tournament to earn points for their house teams.
Alongside this, each class will receive extra points for sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience.
Winning children will receive individual certificates during a special assembly at the end of the day.

Please could the children come to school in their P.E. kits. The children are welcome to wear a t-shirt in the colour of their house team if they wish to; however, we will provide colour stickers for any children wearing their normal white P.E. shirt.

Please ensure your child has their water bottle and a sun hat with them and are wearing sun cream.

WORLD MUSIC DAY

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated World Music Day as a school. It happens in June every year and began in France - it shows that no matter what age, race, culture, gender etc… you can enjoy and make music. As a school, we all had a go at the Boomwhackers - right from our youngest in nursery and Acorns to our older children in Elder and Oak we had a go at this instrument!

RECEPTION VISIT DAWLISH WARREN

Reception enjoyed a wonderful train trip to Dawlish Warren as part of their recent topics. The children spent the morning at the beach paddling in the sea, collecting shells and pebbles, and helping to keep the beach clean by taking part in a litter pick. It was a fantastic morning filled with fun, smiles, and lots of learning. The children were exceptionally well behaved and represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. Here is a few photos from out trip.
