⏰Have you ever wondered why a minute has 60 seconds and an hour has 60 minutes?⏰

As early as 3500 BC, the Sumerians were using the “base-60” system as a form of measurement….

They had realised that 60 is the lowest number with factors of every number from 1 to 6.

In fact, it has 12 factors altogether ✨

So the base-60 system is an ideal measurement tool for when you may need to divide something into various parts, without having to deal with decimals or fractions 👀

Many years later the Babylonians could see that the base-60 system was super handy for measuring time ⌛️🕒

So even though we use the base-10 system more widely today, their method for measuring time has never been changed because it works so well 🌟😁
