The site of The Old School is in an exceptional picturesque area (also a conservation area), about 300 metres from the edge of Dartmoor and in the very small village of Whitchurch. The Old School Children’s Centre takes children from mainly the Tavistock area but is open to all families. We accept government grant funding and our socioeconomic mix is very varied. At the Old School Children’s Centre we have always sought to employ the most highly qualified and talented staff. We understand how important informed and highly trained adults are in the teaching, learning and care process. We offer comprehensive training to all our staff and work very hard to promote good teamwork. We aim to help children to reach their fullest potential, intellectually, socially, emotionally and creatively by providing each child with a fulfilling and challenging day. Our planning encompasses each of the four overarching principles of the EYFS. The aim of this page is to provide our parents and carers with up to date information and up and coming events.
