Just finished fitting a sound decoder to this Std 5 this one has a different sound as the customer wanted a chime whistle, my understanding is one or two of the Std 5’s had chime whistles fitted like the Britannia’s so we have bent the rules a little here and fitted a Hornby Britannia sound decoder sounds good none the less.

It’s been control panel week 3x panels for one customer making use of DCC Concepts switches for Colbalt point motors they show the direction the point has been thrown. Yes a little time consuming but well worth the effort. I will be fitting these to his layout next week.

So this week I made up a wooden nameplate holder for one of my regular customers other than it getting painted with wood stain he was very pleased will be back to mount the nameplate in the New Year.

I’m now closed until Wednesday the 3rd of January 2024 which gives me a little time to catch up with some of my own modelling projects.

In the last week or so I have been working on this control panel customer asked me to improve the previous incarnation as it wasn't up to the task now hopefully this will do the job nicely.

This weekend I have attended the Exeter Model Railway Show. A great weekend lots of people to talk to some new and existing customers too.

Yesterday I was working in Exeter doing wiring for point motors track etc not a big layout but looks really nice I hope to finish this in the next week or so.
Well that's me done work wise for 2022. Now time to spend time with family and friends. I wish all my customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. I look forward to hearing from you in 2023.
In the last couple of days I have been busy fitting sound decoders to O gauge loco's a class 05 a class 50 and a class 37. all have gone well apart from the 37 as the decoder has a fault and needs to go back to to supplier. Attached is a video of the 50.
