Milton Abbot School and Little Owls Pre-school, just 11 minutes from Tavistock town centre and 18 minutes from Launceston.

It’s a small village school with a very big heart! A Place of Happiness and Learning for All! Milton Abbot Primary School is set in a rural village on the edge of Dartmoor but has all the benefits of two nearby towns and a city only a short coach ride away. This means we make regular visits to the Church, Village Hall and Climbing Barn up the road as well as great use of the surrounding countryside for camping, geography, history, muddy walks for charity and our Countryside Stewardship Project with a neighbouring farm. However, we also head into town or the city for swimming, theatre trips, and other visits linked to our carefully designed curriculum. All of which enriches the happiness and learning of our children. We also have an extremely popular preschool and the children within our four classes - Little Owls (Nursery and Reception), Barn Owls (Year 1&2), Tawny Owls (Year 3&4) and Eagle Owls (Year 5&6) thoroughly enjoy interacting together at play and lunchtimes as well as in assemblies and many other mixed learning opportunities such as shared reading sessions and whole school performances.

The children of Milton Abbot enjoyed travelling to infinity and beyond yesterday when the Wonderdome Planetarium visited the school. This was made possible by the fantastic Hoot PTA- thank you, we had a blast!

Bristol Day 2
The Year 5s settled quickly last night and have had a wonderful morning exploring at ‘We the Curious’ and they really enjoyed zooming through space at the Planetarium. After lunch in Cathedral Square, they explored Bristol Cathedral and this evening are taking part in a Grafitti workshop. Another fun packed day.

Year 5 have enjoyed a wonderful start to their residential. Beautiful weather, Banksy artwork and new friends! They are looking forward to the boat trip after dinner this evening.
