West Monkton Church of England Primary School

West Monkton Church of England Primary School We are a committed Church of England Primary School taking children through the early years of their eduction from the ages of 4-11 years.

We are committed, as a Church of England School, to our Christian foundation with Christian Values at the heart of everything we do. We work hard every day to ensure all of our children have a clear sense of moral purpose. This was reflected in the school’s Outstanding judgement in December 2014 through our latest Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. We believe that children learn best when home and school work together and we encourage parents to become actively involved in those areas of school and learning that directly affect their child and also the wider life of the school.

Welcome back West Monkton!
It was wonderful to welcome everyone back to school today, the drizzly start did not dampen the enthusiasm and the smiles of all who were keen to learn, play and chat together. We ended the day with Miss Hayden’s first collective worship where we considered what faith is.

On Wednesday, we held a special Collective Worship in school to celebrate some of our amazing staff.

Firstly, we recognised Mrs Lawrence for her outstanding 20 years of service at West Monkton! Mrs Lawrence is always at the heart of our community and we appreciate everything she does for our school! We hope there are many more years ahead 😊

We then moved onto the harder parts as we said goodbye to Mrs Glasspool, Miss Handel, Mrs Manning and Mrs Newstead…

We have been incredibly lucky to have these ladies as part of our West Monkton family and they have helped to shape our school community as it is today. Together they bring enthusiasm, kindness, dedication and joy! It is safe to say that they will all be missed but we know they will continue to be amazing in their next chapter! Thank you for your commitment to our school 🥰

We say goodbye with heartfelt gratitude and the warmest of wishes for the future! With love from your West Monkton family ❤️
