A poem from staff ❤️

On Wednesday, we held a special Collective Worship in school to celebrate some of our amazing staff.

Firstly, we recognised Mrs Lawrence for her outstanding 20 years of service at West Monkton! Mrs Lawrence is always at the heart of our community and we appreciate everything she does for our school! We hope there are many more years ahead 😊

We then moved onto the harder parts as we said goodbye to Mrs Glasspool, Miss Handel, Mrs Manning and Mrs Newstead…

We have been incredibly lucky to have these ladies as part of our West Monkton family and they have helped to shape our school community as it is today. Together they bring enthusiasm, kindness, dedication and joy! It is safe to say that they will all be missed but we know they will continue to be amazing in their next chapter! Thank you for your commitment to our school 🥰

Yesterday, Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Weston Super Mare beach! ☀️

This trip linked to our History learning this half-term, “Changing Seasides”. We built sandcastles, played games, took part in a bingo spotting activity and Punch and Judy role play. 

The children were fantastic and made this an enjoyable trip for us all ☺️

A huge thank you to all of our families for their contributions towards the trip and to all the staff who supported… especially for being on seagull watch so the children could enjoy their lunch as peacefully as possible! 😆

Year 1 trip end of year trip to Wildwoods Devon was a wonderful trip fishing animals, exploring nature, pond dipping, making mud animals and of course enjoying packed lunches!
