💫 Last Wednesday we held our “Helper and ABRS First Aid and Safety “ course .

⛑️ This course was aimed for our riders who were ready and wanting to officially become Flying Start helpers .

From learning all about the boys , their personalities , their individual needs. Health and safety around the boys and the yard , recognising a poorly pony , equipment, tack and so much more .

💫 Thursday we held our “Grandnational “ House Cup themed course .

🐎 We were all on early to beat the heat and adjusted the course around the welfare of the boys .

Learning about balance and position at a gallop . Why to warm up your horse is so important? What you need to do in a warm up and why? Learning about cool down and putting your horse first ♥️.

🤩 I truly can’t express how proud I am of you all for last week . Such fantastic energy and learning .

📣 2 HOUR HACK -Last minute cancellation space 📣

A space has become available for our 2 hour hack on Wednesday 19th August 12:00-14:00.

The hack is aimed for our Levels 4 and up who are confident to ride independently.

It’s a beautiful chilled ride up onto the hills of Broomfield , walking and trotting .

🐎 Last Thursday was our “Showjumping Clinic” , where our fabulous riders built confidence, determination and bravery to build on their jumping skills , technique and balance 🤩.

I can’t express how proud we are of you all . It wasn’t easy , but you achieved so much of the day and I can’t wait to see you use your new skills and confidence in your lessons 👏.

📣 Tomorrow is our “ Helper, hack and first aid course 🩹.

🌡️ The temperatures tomorrow are extremely high .

ATTENDEES :

🌳 We will be setting off for our hack at first arrival to beat the heat . Please arrive in your riding equipment first thing .

👚 Please bring cool clothes to get changed into when we are back at the yard ready to start first aid and helper training .

💦 Please bring plenty to drink and suncream .

🐴 AFTERNOON LESSONS :

So far lessons will still be running but will be non-ridden . I will be monitoring the yard , the boys and staff very closely as they are my priority during this heat 🔥.

📣 CALLING ALL HELPERS 📣

We are calling out to all our helpers if your free to help with this afternoons lessons from 15:00 -19:00 , and tomorrows Helper and First Aid Course 10:00-14:00 🙏.

We are so so busy , with some of our seniors away . We need your fabulous energy 🤩.

🐴 On another note is anyone else noticing their flymasks like to go for adventures over night never to return 🤣.

3rd flymask for Blue bought yesterday - pony size . Has anyone ever seen a pony with such large ears to fit this flymask 🤣🫣?

💫 I owe these two my absolute world and life♥️.

Still owning the yard , still in charge , still bossing me around, first to always great me at the gate and when I leave to say goodbye, forever inspiring so many generations to ride and to fall in love with Shetlands 🫶.

💫 A huge congratulations to all our Flying start riders who attended our Show Prep Pony Fun Day yesterday.

You all did so incredibly well , lots of learning on how to prepare your pony for show , what a judge would look for , quarter marks , plaiting and working towards your ABRS rosettes and certifications 🏵️.

Finishing up with ridden gymkhana games and agility apple bobbing 🍎. We had so much fun and I’ve completely lost my voice from laughing so much . The boys were a credit to you and they absolutely loved the day .

💫 A beautiful morning this morning , watching the world wake up over the fields and the boys .

Taking the moment to embrace my surroundings, the quietness of the countryside and enjoying the time with my boys .

💫With this time of having our driest summer to record , starting to use our winter hay like it is actually winter it’s made really think 🤔.

What’s going to happen with the cost of hay as we do actually approach winter ❄️?

Will there be a shortage as the rumours down the grape vine are saying ?

How can we preserve a fall back when we are all having this same struggle ?

Planning , brainstorming , trying to think ahead . I may even have to cut back on my cheese 🧀 in-take and Pepsi Max for the Winter 🤣🫣.

💫 We are now all back from our Pre- Summer break , completely refreshed and ready for an amazing and busy Summer .💫

The boys have all come back in feeling very well and completed all health checks with flying colours . Bathed , trimmed , a visit from Simon our Farrier yesterday and Romeo had a special visit by Hazel from Western Equines vets for a dental check up 🦷.

❤️Oh my days look how handsome Romeo and Gonzo look today .
