💙 A new chapter begins for our Year 2 pupils as they take the exciting next step from Pre-Prep into Prep at King's.

One of the many benefits of an all-through education is the smooth and familiar progression through the school. Surrounded by established friendships, supportive staff and the values that underpin life at King's, our children move forward with confidence, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities while remaining part of the same close-knit community.

Before the summer, our Year 2 pupils celebrated the end of their Pre-Prep journey with a sleepover together, creating special memories and marking an important milestone in their King's story.

We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved so far and look forward to watching them grow, flourish and thrive.

🌟 Behind the Grades 🌟

The results are in, and the next chapter awaits as another generation of King's pupils are ready to step confidently into the world.

This year's cohort has achieved some of the strongest A Level and BTEC results in recent years, earning places at leading universities and opening doors to exciting opportunities in the UK and globally.

Over the coming days, we'll be celebrating some of the pupil stories behind the results.

While their journeys now take them in new directions, they will always remain part of the strong King's community as Old Aluredians.

First up, Jago...

Starting at King's Prep, Jago progressed through the school as an Academic Scholar, combining academic ambition with a passion for cricket.

A key member of the 1st XI since Fifth Form and Vice-Captain in his final year, Jago helped deliver some of the most successful cricketing moments in King's history. He played a pivotal role in National Schools Cricket Cup victories at U15 level in 2023 and with the 1st XI in 2026, finishing the latter tournament as its leading wicket-taker.

Beyond the classroom and cricket pitch, Jago immersed himself in school life, contributing to the Pelican and Phoenix Society, playing hockey and football, and performing guitar at Fox Rocks each year, embracing every opportunity to challenge himself and grow in confidence.

One of his standout memories came in the national semi-final against Bede's School, where the team overcame adversity to secure a memorable victory, reflecting the resilience and team spirit that defined his time at King's.

Jago is particularly grateful for the support of Mrs Cashmore and Mr Ellsworth, who helped guide his academic journey and future aspirations, as well as Mr Lewis and Mr Woodman, whose encouragement was instrumental in his development as a cricketer.

Next, Jago heads to Adelaide, Australia, for six months at a cricket academy before beginning a Psychology degree at Durham University in 2027.

Jago leaves a positive lasting mark on the King's community and we will be watching in anticipation as his journey continues. Good luck for the future Jago, you've been exceptional.

At the Pelican Nursery, learning is about so much more than the classroom.

Trips like our visit to Bristol Zoo give children the opportunity to explore the world around them, discover new animals, ask questions, and create lasting memories with their friends. 🦁

Alongside our daily activities, experiences like these help nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning, all while having plenty of fun along the way.

Today's DT lesson could be the moment a future architect, engineer or product designer discovers their passion. 🛠️

Hear from our Head of DT at King's Prep about how our dedicated Design & Technology curriculum nurtures creativity, problem-solving and practical skills from an early age. With weekly timetabled access to specialist DT facilities dedicated exclusively to Prep pupils, children are encouraged to design, make, test and refine their own ideas.

From architecture and engineering to product design and textiles, DT opens doors to a wide range of exciting career pathways. As pupils further up the school prepare to receive their exam results and take the next step towards university next week, many of the creative, technical and analytical skills that underpin these courses can be traced back to the hands-on learning, problem-solving and innovation nurtured from an early age.

With inspirational teaching and hands-on learning, DT at King's helps pupils develop the skills, confidence and curiosity to succeed in whatever comes next. ✨

Year 7 pupils enjoyed an incredible six-day residential trip to Normandy, packed with language, culture, history and adventure.

From meeting their French pen pals in Mézidon-Canon and practising their language skills in local cafés, to exploring the beautiful harbour town of Honfleur, pupils embraced every opportunity to immerse themselves in French life. Highlights also included visits to a zoo, water park and high-ropes course, where they showed remarkable courage, resilience and teamwork.

The trip also provided a powerful history lesson, with visits to Arromanches and Gold Beach, helping pupils gain a deeper appreciation of the events of D-Day and the significance of this historic region.

For many, this was their first extended time away from home, and they rose to the challenge with confidence, independence and enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of how they represented the school throughout the trip.

A wonderful week of learning, friendship and unforgettable memories. ✨
