Good morning,

The online portal for applications for children to start school in September 2027, or transfer to a junior or middle school, is now OPEN.

The closing date is 15 January 2027.

We always recommend you include your catchment school as one of your preferences. If you don't and it becomes oversubscribed, we can't guarantee your child a place there and if you don't get offered one of the schools you have chosen, your child might be offered a school further away with no travel assistance.

A few tips before you start;
1. If you previously applied for a child starting or transferring school in 2017 or earlier, you will need to re-register on the portal as a new system was introduced at this time.
2. If you do not receive your registration or forgotten password email please check your junk mail.

As with any IT system there is always the potential for unforeseen issues so if you experience any problems, please let us know and we’ll look into it as quickly as we can.

Includes information about catchment areas and admissions policies

Dear Parent/Carers,

When applying for a starting or transferring school place for September 2027, rest assured that applications are NOT dealt with on a first come first served basis!

If a school is full all applications are considered against the over-subscription criteria. The deadline dates are 31 October 2026 for secondary and upper applications and 15 January 2027 for primary, junior and middle applications so there is plenty of time to look at schools before applying – please contact the school direct or visit their website to find out about open days.

We will not be sending individual letters to home addresses to advise parents to apply. All the information you need is on the website so please just apply whenever you are ready and before the deadline of course. Please feel free to share this with family and friends.

Please find below the link to our website. This gives further information and access to the on-line application to apply for a school place.

Includes schools, childcare and our Local Offer for ages 0 to 25
