“𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧...”

And suddenly your brain deletes your entire career. 😄

Preparing a few real examples before an interview helps.

Situation.
Task.
Action.
Result.

You do not need to memorise a speech.

You just need enough structure to stop stress doing all the talking.

Our AI Hackathon just got bigger.

We're pleased to welcome three sponsors supporting our next AI Hackathon at Firepool, Taunton.

𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬 is providing Creator access for all participants, plus Pro access for our overall winners and a special Scale prize for the Best Project Built with ElevenLabs.

𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐛 is providing the £100 winner's prize and trophy.

𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 is supporting the event with creative and promotional support.

On 8 October, teams will have six hours to build parts of an AI Career Agent designed around a real challenge: helping people understand where their experience fits in the UK labour market and take the next realistic step in their career.

Thank you to all three organisations for helping us turn an idea into a much stronger event.

They sound almost the same when you are new to this stuff.

Download brings a file onto your device.

Upload sends a file from your device to a website.

Attach adds a file to an email or message.

And then comes the classic question.

Where on earth did the file go? 😄

These small skills are exactly what digital confidence is made of.

Final push for our Hackathon support team.

We still have space for more judges, mentors and sponsors on 8 October.

If you work in AI, HR, product, technology, digital, business, education or employability, there is probably a useful role for you somewhere in this event.

Judge the final prototypes.

Mentor a team during the day.

Support the event as an organisation.

Or simply introduce us to the right person.

The best Hackathons are not created by one organiser. They are created by the mix of people in the room.

And please share this with someone who should be part of it.

Nine days to go and you are still thinking about it?

Consider this your reminder.

Our AI Hackathon is free, local and open to people with very different skills.

You do not need a team already sorted.

You do not need to be technical.

You do not need to arrive with the next billion pound idea in your notebook.

Come to learn. Come to meet people. Come because you know a problem that should be easier to solve. Come because you want to see what happens when a mixed team has one day to make something useful.

8 October, Firepool Centre for Digital Innovation, Taunton.

And if you cannot come, please share it. One click from you could put the right person into a team.

Why so many example questions?

How much should you say?

How do you talk about achievements without sounding uncomfortable?

Our UK Job Interview preparation course looks at both preparation and cultural differences.

Because doing the job and talking about the job in an interview are two different skills.

Thinking about starting a social enterprise?

One of the easiest mistakes is to decide what feels like a “reasonable” price before working out what the service actually costs to deliver.

It is not just materials or a room.

There is insurance, software, admin, preparation, payment fees and your own time. The bit we are all strangely talented at valuing at £0.

If every sale creates a loss, a low price is not helping anyone.

This short clip comes from our *Start Your Social Enterprise* course on HRnexus EduHub. It is built for people who have an idea but need to work out whether it can actually operate before spending money registering, branding and building everything around it.

Someone can speak English well in everyday life and still feel unsure in a UK interview or workplace conversation.

For example:
How do I answer a competency question?
How much should I say about my achievements?
How do I ask for clarification?
How do I understand feedback?
What is small talk doing at work?

These are learned workplace habits. They are not a test of someone’s ability.
Career Runway helps people understand recruitment expectations, workplace communication and professional norms in the UK.

The aim is not to change who someone is.
It is to make the rules less mysterious. 🇬🇧

We are looking for sponsors for the AI Hackathon on 8 October.

The event is practical by design.

Teams will spend the day building AI based solutions around work, opportunities and everyday problems, then show what they created to a judging panel.

The event will be hosted at Centre for Digital Innovation in Taunton.

If your organisation wants to support local digital talent, practical AI learning and collaboration across Somerset, we would like to have a conversation.

Support could be financial or in kind.

If one of your friend may want to support a practical local technology event, we would love an introduction.

We are keeping this simple. No giant sponsorship deck required before somebody can say hello.

What happens at a six hour AI Hackathon?

At 10am, you have a problem and a team.

By the end of the afternoon, you need something you can show.

That might be a simple job search helper, a CV tool, a language support tool, a guide to services or a completely different idea.

Then each team shows the judges what they built.

No long presentation. No need to pretend everything is perfect. Just show us the idea, the prototype and why it could help.

If you have never done anything like this before, that is completely fine.

Bring a laptop if you can. Bring your questions. We will provide the tea and coffee.
