Taunton School

Taunton School Taunton School is a leading independent school for boys and girls located in Somerset.

Taunton School believes that a school education should be life changing, not merely a daily ritual to be endured. We believe we should be preparing the young for the next 50 years of their lives, not just the next 5. We believe that it is our job to equip the pupils with the values and experiences for a future anywhere in the world.

As part of our PSHEE programme, Stuart is offering coaching and encouraging students to reflect on important themes including equality, inclusion, community, growth mindset and making the most of their opportunities and potential. 📚🤝

On Tuesday evening, we were delighted to welcome supporters of Taunton School Music to a spectacular recital marking the opening of our newly refurbished Gwyn Williams Room performance space and thanking the donors whose generosity helped make it possible. 🎹✨

Music Scholars from across the year groups showcased their exceptional talents, bringing the space to life with performances on the new Steinway grand piano and a range of other instruments. Guests also experienced the enhanced acoustics, lighting and design that make this a truly outstanding venue for performance.

We were pleased to be joined by representatives of the Old Tauntonian Association, governors, staff, former staff, local musicians, and the architect, acoustic consultant and many of the contractors who played a key role in the stunning refurbishment.

A memorable evening of music, celebration and gratitude as we opened an exciting new chapter for Taunton School Music. 🎶

With more than 60 nationalities represented across our school community, celebrating languages and cultures from around the world is part of everyday life at Taunton School. We’re delighted to share that the blue team landed at Cap Gris Nez yesterday evening after an incredible 12 hours and 48 minutes of swimming! 🎉👏

This achievement marks the completion of all three English Channel crossings undertaken by this year’s cohort, with 18 students aged just 13 successfully swimming the 21-mile route from Dover to France.

This year, students chose to raise funds for Compass Wellbeing, a Taunton-based charity, and we are thrilled to announce that they have now raised more than £11,000.

The biggest congratulations go to every student who took part. Their determination, resilience and teamwork throughout this extraordinary challenge have been truly inspiring and we could not be prouder! 💙💪
