🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Parent Feedback (Choice Advice)- 'The officer was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She is a good listener and was kind enough to have two calls with me. The second was after I had received the rejection reasons from the Secondary school; it was very beneficial to have the support of someone who is familiar with the appeal hearing process.'.

Choice Advice provide free, impartial information and support to help families make informed decisions about school admissions and education choices.

Thank you to everyone that takes the time to share their experiences with us.

Do you think your child or young person may need more support than is currently available through their educational setting?

Somerset SENDIAS can provide free, impartial and confidential information about the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process, including:

✅ Who can request an EHC needs assessment
✅ Understanding the legal test for an assessment
✅ Information about the application process
✅ Support to help you make an informed request
✅ Guidance on next steps if an assessment is agreed or refused

Parents, carers and young people can request an EHC needs assessment themselves, and we can help you understand your rights and options.
