On Monday 27th April, Beech and Whitebeam class travelled to South Wales to visit Caerleon, formerly known as Isca, which is the most complete Roman fort in the United Kingdom. The children found out so much about the Ancient Roman civilisation and were even trained to become a soldier by a Roman! They also visited the museum which has a large display of Ancient Roman artefacts before spending the afternoon touring the Roman barracks, amphitheatre and baths. They had the best day and were a real credit to the school!

Somerset Art Works & Lyngford Park Primary School is proud to announce the official opening of a new community outdoor reading space at Priorswood Library. The project, part of the wider ‘Her Ground’ initiative, was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Taunton, Councillor Martin Straus. The new "pocket park" has reimagined a redundant disabled parking bay outside the Library and Nursery entrance, turning an unloved area into a vibrant, nature-friendly sanctuary. The space now features a colourful floor mural by lead artist Lucy Oates, bespoke seating, wildflower planters, and wildlife habitat improvements designed to encourage community connection and environmental education.
