Throwing it back to last week's Y3 Sports Festival at The Castle School. Children enjoyed a fantastic morning of games and activities led by the sports leaders. As always, a wonderful opportunity to join other schools in a celebration of sport.

Today we are hosting Phonics Workshops + an opportunity to see a phonics lesson in action.

'Every Child A Reader' is a bit of a mantra here at Orchard Grove and knowing how we teach phonics and spelling is key to best supporting your child.

As we head into a new week, we're looking back on what a fantastic time our Year 3 children had at their school sleepover this week!

It was an unforgettable experience filled with fun, laughter and making wonderful memories with friends.

All is calm and quiet at the Year 3 sleepover 😴

What an unforgettable evening it's been! The children have had an absolute blast with a packed lineup of sports, drama, games, a lively disco and a delicious pizza party to top it off.

As always, our Year 3s have been an absolute credit to our school. What an incredible experience for them all! Huge thanks to all that staff at both Orchard Grove and The Castle School for making it happen.

Classroom/SEND Teaching Assistant

At Orchard Grove Primary School, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person who can bring creativity and flair to the classroom. In return we can offer a supportive and friendly environment where staff thrive and are encouraged to embrace their own personal development.

To provide support for learning activities for children on an individual or group basis, under the general direction of the class teacher and school SENCo. To support and complement the work of the classroom teacher by supporting class work, the environment and personal care. Delivering programmes of intervention, as recommended by school SENCo, class teacher and external agencies. Providing personal, social, welfare, emotional and behavioural support. Facilitating social communications and interaction with peers. Working alongside teaching staff, parents and a range of professionals on a regular basis to implement and review programmes of interventions.

Working Monday – Friday: 8.45am - 3.15pm (30 hours per week)

Reception children have been learning all about the different parts of the face — eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, lips, nose and ears. They have loved using mirrors to look closely at their own unique features.

They carefully noticed their eye colour, hair colour and skin tone before creating wonderful self‑portrait paintings. Their attention to detail was incredible, and the artwork they produced shows just how observant and creative they are. We are so proud of their amazing efforts and growing confidence as young artists! 🎨 🖌️ 💚🌳
