This week we have been doing some activities based on international literacy day. The children have been busy making their own "books" as well as practicing their phonics by tracing the lines on the letter tracing sheets. We have also explored our story sacks, which allows the children to join in with and follow the stories through props. We listened to "we're going on a bear hunt" "stick man" and "the gruffalo".

Today I said good bye to one of my long term mindees, as he leaves me to start his big boy adventures at school. I have looked after him since he was 1 years old, so we had a special levers party; playing pass the parcel, lots of dancing and some yummy cakes! I am now closed for my summer break. I will be reopening for the autumn term on Thursday 3rd September. Any enquiries received whilst I am closed will be replied to when I am back open in September. Have a lovely sunny break little mindees and good luck to my school leavers who have left me today. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back in September for a fun and busy autumn term.

This week we have been focusing on world elephant day. The children have enjoyed exploring the elephant sensory tray, as well as decorating their own elephant pictures using the pens, paints and stickers. We also did some baking this week, making some yummy elephant short breads.
