🥛🐄 A Trip to the Farm! 🐄🥛

Today we took our toy cows on a special trip to the farm to get some delicious milkshake! 🌾🚜 The children enjoyed talking about where milk comes from, learning that cows produce milk which can then be used to make lots of tasty foods and drinks. 🥛

This hands-on experience helped support the EYFS Understanding the World area of learning, encouraging children to explore where food comes from and learn more about life on the farm. 🐮💚

🌟 Dress-Up Day at Nursery! 🌟

Today, the children had lots of fun dressing up and using their imaginations to become their favourite characters! 🎭✨ Through role play and storytelling, the children developed their confidence, communication skills, and creativity, supporting the EYFS areas of Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Expressive Arts and Design. 🌈

We loved seeing all their wonderful costumes and watching their imaginations come to life! 💕

This week, the children have been exploring different modes of transport and learning about important places in our community, including the train station, school, and hospital. They enjoyed practising simple first aid skills and taking part in lots of number activities throughout the week.

Today the children enjoyed learning all about gorillas. We talked about where they live, what they look like, and some of the amazing things they do. The children then became little artists and created some fantastic gorilla drawings, showing off their creativity and imagination! 🎨✨

Today our little learners have been celebrating World Apple Day with lots of exciting apple-themed activities! 🌟

The children enjoyed exploring apples through messy play, practising their cutting skills by chopping their own fruit, and helping to prepare some delicious apple treats in our cooking activities. 👩‍🍳🍏

From discovering different textures, smells and tastes to developing their independence and fine motor skills, it has been a wonderful day full of hands-on learning and fun!

Our little pirates had great fun this week with some activities to celebrate pirates day!
💦Water play- splashing, pouring and exploring as we searched for hidden treasure!
🏴‍☠️Role Play- become brave pirates, sailing the seas and using our imaginations to go on exciting adventures.
💪Gross Motor Skills- climbing, balancing, crawling and moving like real pirates.
🤏Fine Motor Skills - developing those little hand muscles through treasure hunts, scooping and sorting.

There were lots of opportunities to learn through play.

We absolutely love making and playing with playdough at nursery!💞
It's such a simple activity, but offers so many wonderful learning and development opportunities.
👐Build Strength- rolling, squeezing, squashing and manipulating playdough helps strengthen little hands and fingers.
✂Develops motor skills - using rolling pins, cutters and other tools helps support both fine and gross motor development.
👃Stimulates the senses- we love adding lovely scents and different textures to our playdough, making it a fantastic sensory experience.
🦄Encourages Imagination- from magical creatures and pretend food to animals and wonderful creations, the possibilities are endless.
