☀️ Hot Weather ☀️

With the hot weather this week, we will be taking extra precautions in order to stay safe in the sun. This includes the following:

☀️ Ensuring that sun cream is applied correctly and regularly
☀️ Check the daily UV rating each morning using the Met Office
☀️ Encourage children to drink plenty of water throughout the day
☀️ Monitor weather conditions and adjust outdoor play accordingly
☀️ Promote sun safety as part of the curriculum
☀️ Providing lots of water/Ice play
☀️ Providing Ice Pops to keep cool

Outdoor play will be limited to a maximum of 20 minutes, or rescheduled during extreme heat or high UV index conditions (5 or higher), especially between 11:00am and 3:00pm when UV levels are at their highest.

During these times, all children must have sun cream applied at least 20 minutes before going outside, following the manufacturer’s instructions on the bottle.

We kindly ask parents/carers to please:

• Provide sun cream if your child is unable to use the nursery sun cream
• Dress your child in light, airy clothing that covers the children's shoulders
• Provide a sun hat each day
• Send a water bottle if possible

Parents/carers are also kindly asked to apply factor 50 sun cream with a high UVA rating before arriving to the setting. Staff will reapply sun cream throughout the session.

As always, please note that fresh drinking water will always be available and children will be regularly encouraged to drink throughout the day.

Month of the Military Child - 'Purple Up! Day' 💜💜

Today, in aid of 'Purple Up Day', the staff and children dressed up and took part in activities, based on the colour purple.

Purple - a colour symbolising the colours of military branches combined, is worn to show solidarity with military children.

What a lovely, creative day we have all had! 🥰
