Oak Class Trip to Guildhall Museum

What a fantastic day of learning for Oak Class! 🍂✨

As part of their RE learning about Pilgrimage, Oak Class enjoyed an exciting visit to the Guildhall Museum. The children were fully immersed in history and particularly loved re-enacting the trial of the Pilgrim Fathers in the courtroom. ⚖️

Throughout the day, they took part in a scavenger hunt, tried on costumes from the era, and learned about the imprisonment of the pilgrims, bringing their classroom learning to life. 🕵️‍♀️👒📚

We are incredibly proud of the children for their excellent manners and behaviour. They were wonderful ambassadors for our school and demonstrated our school value of Respect throughout the visit. 🌟

Well done, Oak Class! 👏😊

⚽🏐 Tattershall Cup – A Fantastic Local Derby! 🏐⚽

One of our favourite fixtures of the year saw our Year 5/6 football and netball teams take on our friends from Tattershall Primary School in the annual Tattershall Cup. As always, it was a brilliant afternoon of local derby action, packed with teamwork, determination, skill and great sportsmanship from all involved.

While the result didn’t go our way this time, our pupils represented the school brilliantly, showing resilience, encouragement and a positive attitude throughout. We were incredibly proud of the way they competed and supported one another. Also featuring some of our younger pupils providing lots of support and cheers!

A huge thank you to Barnes Wallis Academy for providing the referees and umpires. Their excellent officiating, along with the helpful teaching points and encouragement they shared during the matches, made the experience even more valuable for our young athletes.

Well done to everyone who took part, and congratulations to Tattershall Primary School on the win. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Tattershall Cup! 👏🏆💙💛

🌊🐠 Maple Class Visit Skegness Aquarium! 🐡🌟

This week, Maple Class enjoyed a fantastic trip to Skegness Aquarium! The children demonstrated excellent behaviour throughout the visit and were a credit to our school.

We explored all areas of the aquarium, discovering a wide variety of fascinating sea creatures along the way. The children loved seeing colourful tropical fish, graceful rays, curious sharks, seahorses, and even learning about creatures from around the world. There was so much to see and explore, and everyone showed great enthusiasm and curiosity.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting Mr Puff the pufferfish, who certainly captured everyone's attention! 🐡

The trip provided a wonderful opportunity to bring our learning to life, and the children asked some fantastic questions about marine life and habitats.

Well done, Maple Class – we are so proud of you! 🌟👏

World Cup Live lesson

Sycamore Class have participated in a Live Lesson this afternoon all about what the World Cup and football teaches us.

This is a lovely link to our current learning in RE, where we recently explored Worldviews and beliefs.

At Holy Trinity we welcome everyone and have a great sense of belonging. The love of football is just another thing that we share together.

📚➕ A great start to Monday morning in Sycamore Class! ➕📚
Our Year 5 pupils used cubes to explore and calculate the volume of different 3D shapes, developing their understanding of how space can be measured and compared.
Meanwhile, our Year 6 mathematicians investigated the nets of a cube, exploring how many different ways a cube can be unfolded and identifying which nets can be folded back into a cube.
It was fantastic to see lots of hands-on learning, problem-solving and mathematical discussion taking place across the classroom. Well done, Sycamore Class, on such a positive and engaging start to the week! 🌟📐🧮

Sycamore Class have been diving into the rhythm, pace and personality of ‘Night Mail’ by W. H. Auden, and what a journey it has been. After exploring the poem’s sounds, patterns and storytelling, the children took those ideas and made them entirely their own.

They really rose to the challenge of writing their own poetry and each poem shows a unique spark. What shines through in all of them is the children’s confidence, creativity and growing love of language.

Here are just a few of the fantastic pieces they produced. We are all incredibly proud of their imagination and the way they embraced this classic poem before branching out into their own poetic styles.

We were so proud of some of our amazing pupils in Sycamore Class, who led a thoughtful and inspiring Collective Worship this week! They explored what it truly means to be a “legend,” linking their ideas beautifully to our upcoming Sports Day.

The children introduced our team names — Greg Rutherford, Mo Farah, Keely Hodgkinson and Hannah Cockroft — and shared the powerful stories behind these sporting icons. They highlighted the determination, resilience and challenges each athlete has overcome to reach the very top.

This special worship helped us all reflect on the importance of perseverance and teamwork as we prepare for Sports Day next week.

As always, we reminded one another that sport is not just about winning, but about trying our best, supporting others and taking part with pride. We can’t wait to see that spirit shine through!

⚽🌍 Maple Class World Cup Fun! 🏆

This week, Maple Class have been exploring all things World Cup! The children loved taking part in mini football matches, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm on the pitch. ⚽

We’ve also been learning to recognise different flags from around the world and had lots of fun creating our own football pitch using coloured rice and mini players—what fantastic creativity! 🎨

It’s been a brilliant week full of energy, learning and smiles. Good luck to all the teams taking part—Maple Class are cheering you on! 🎉

Maple Class have been diving into their exciting new topic, all about the Seaside and Under the Sea, and what a fantastic start we’ve had! The children have shown brilliant creativity and teamwork, building a wonderful aeroplane in our outdoor airport using large modelling equipment—ready for a seaside getaway! 🛫

Inside, imagination has been flowing as we crafted beautiful mermaid tails out of playdoh and brought traditional seaside fun to life by reenacting our very own Punch and Judy show. 🎭

Our sand area has been busy too, with countless sandcastles carefully built and proudly displayed, while we’ve also been learning to identify a range of fascinating sea creatures. 🦀🐬

It’s been full of laughter, creativity and curiosity—well done Maple Class! We can’t wait to explore even more seaside adventures together. 🌞
