Getting up onto the foil on the ocean waves is exhilarating, but for those who don't come from a Windsurfing, or Kitesurfing background, taking a beginners lesson using a wing on land, then on a Stand-Up-Paddleboard (WingSUP), is the best way to start to learn this fantastic sport.

It's no joke! The 1st of April saw the Ospreys return to their nest on the other side of the Loch. It was also the first session out on the water for new 'wingers', Carmen, Heather, Lilia, Mike and Douglas (pictured), getting up from the kneeling start position, to stand and drive a Stand-Up-Paddleboard along in a very light wind. Just before this, the group had practiced self-rescue techniques, using the paddle.
This season at Kayak Majik, we are adding WingSUP lessons, in the safety of West Loch Tarbert, to the range of activities available for our visitors

Starting Wing Sports, with us, is literally 'childs play'. Before venturing out onto the water, you learn to control the wing on land, as my son, Aiden, demonstrates in these images.
Even when first getting onto the board, our WingSUPs allow you to practice in the safety of the very shallow water we have here in West Loch Tarbert.
Our day courses are ideal for people with little or even no previous experience in using wind powered craft.

It can be very safe too, in the right location.

On marginal wind days, you've just got to get the big wing out and the largest 'shovel' onto the Hydrofoil to fly. Today was one of those days, with gusts only just reaching the top end of a force 3. "Go big, or go home", as we used to say in Windsurfing!

We're very pleased to be featured in the Oban Times Group, Autumn/Winter, Holiday Guide, out this week in hard copy and online, introducing our introduction to Wing Sports lessons on WingSUPs.
Much easier to learn than windsurfing, WingSUP can be used as a first step towards Wingfoiling, or an exciting sport in it's own right.
The small fins on the board allow you to practice in the safe, shallow, water we have here in West Loch Tarbert.

Thank you to everyone who has liked the Osprey Wing Foiling Centre page.
Our aim is to add Wing and Foiling sports to the range of on water activities we offer through Kayak Majik on West Loch Tarbert.
WingSUP is the ideal introduction to Wing Sports for beginners who have little or no previous experience of wind driven sailing craft.
Driving a SUP by wing is a great sport in it's own right. Without a large Hydrofoil underneath, you can learn the different points of sailing, practice turns and self-rescue methods.
The safe, shallow water at West Loch is ideal for your first attempts at these great new watersports.
