A massive well done to our brilliant new Year 7 students on completing your very first day at The Wilnecote School!

It was fantastic to see so many smart uniforms and smiling faces walking through the gates this morning. We know the step up to secondary school is a major milestone, and you have all handled it wonderfully.

Today marks the start of an exciting five-year journey. From discovering new subjects to forming lifelong friendships, the opportunities ahead of you are boundless. We are incredibly excited to watch you grow, find your passions, and unlock your full potential as you build a foundation for your future success.

Key dates for the start of term:

📅 Tuesday 1st September: INSET Day (School closed to students)
📅 Wednesday 2nd September: INSET Day (School closed to students)
📅 Thursday 3rd September: Year 7 students return
📅 Friday 4th September: Years 8–11 return (all year groups in school)

What a day! The weather was perfect, the support was loud, and the smiles were endless at Sports Day 2026. Two-thirds of our pupils were on the field competing in everything from softball to the 4x100m relays, while the rest turned the sidelines into an amazing cheer squad.
