😌 Tomorrow is GCSE results day.

📱 For my students, let’s make sure we deal with the results together - drop me a message tomorrow if you need a chat.

😟 If you don’t get the results you want then I will give you as much free advice as you need to help and support you.

🧮 Don’t forget, if you need to resit, I will offer you a free lesson next year and I can also help set revision/ mock papers to make sure you get the grade you need.

☕️ I’ll sit in my office from 9am and wait to hear from you all.

🗓️ I’ll return to a normal timetable for the week beginning 31st August.

❌ I’ll be closed on Monday 31st for the bank holiday - so the first day I’m back open properly will be Tuesday 1st September.

😦 The Single Perspective 😧

😩 After 15 years in education, I’m troubled by something.

👨🏼‍🏫 It’s this, are headteachers implementing a one-size-fits-all approach to education? I worry the answer is yes.

🤖 I once had a colleague say I wanted my class to be robots.

🤔 That’s fine. I don’t agree - I believe I focused on a calm, controlled classroom. If he thought that was robotic, that’s fine. There is no single perspective.

☹️ I admire this colleague. At first, I took this as a derogatory comment. But, upon reflection, it made me very, very happy.

🏫 Take a primary school: across primary, you could have 7 different teachers.

👩‍🏫 7 different teachers, 7 different perspectives.

🧑‍🏫 7 different teachers exposing our children to 7 different styles of teaching.

😩 I’m now consumed by the idea that headteachers are standardising teaching across their school. This is worrying me, deeply.

🤔 Surely we attract high-quality teachers because we embrace their individual teaching practises as part of the whole experience your child has across, for example, primary school?

💭 Surely our children then have a more enriched experience at school when they are exposed to varying professionals with varying opinions on educational provisions?

📈 Remember, progress isn’t always linear.

👩‍🎓 There is no one-size-fits-all way of delivering an effective education.

💪 Summer Intensive Course ☀️

🗓️ There’s just a few weeks before the new academic year.

👨🏼‍🏫 I’ve put together a package due to the space I have - this is for new or current students.

✅ 10 lessons across the weeks beginning the 17th and 24th August (I can be flexible when these lessons are).

✅ Initial diagnostic assessments.

✅ Final meeting, with students and parents, at the end of the 10 lessons block.

📍 I tutor from the B77 area.

👩‍🎓 I can help primary or secondary.

✍️ I tutor for maths and English.

💰 As this is a one-off package - a discount is available too!

📖 Any work completed after the summer can be taken home. Or, I can keep work completed in case your child needs more lessons in the future.

☀️ Summer lessons 🌞

🏝️ Over the summer holiday, I get the chance to work with new students.

👩‍🎓 During this summer break, I’ve had the chance to work with Frankie who is preparing for the 11+ in September.
