Today's Challenge!
Take a piece of paper, hold it at arms length, blow on the paper and try to keep it out at an angle. If you can keep it there steady for 6 seconds then congratulations you have the breath capacity to play a brass instrument!

Playing from a place of relaxation not tension is so important for any brass player. This was demonstrated beautifully by my new trumpet student this week.

Trumpet can be one of the hardest instruments to learn and it is so satisfying to see things click into place for a beginner.
