Good work by Paul...but unfortunately it'll no doubt be hated by the realists and the traditionalists alike π.
Its NOT self defence π its an exercise. Its a closer more pressured attack than we usually use in Aikido....teaching us short body movement off line, shorter faster more practical applications of technique, performing under pressure along with balance and posture, amongst others. It allows us to see which techniques perform better under stress and which are better suited elsewhere.
This is about taking Aikido out of its comfort zone and looking at the raw basic techniques that can work under pressure. Its not a delusional self defence technique based around three people queuing up to attack in a nice organised manner π...although if Paul was wearing combats and a T shirt im sure all the haters would think its awesome π.
Atemi Aikibudo Aikido Club, teaching traditional aikido with modern self defence applications.
