Rawlett The Official Rawlett page. News & updates about our popular, friendly Lift Schools Academy Lift Rawlett is a special place.

Lift Rawlett has a strong and positive reputation locally based on a history of success. There is an ethos of working together to focus on both academic success and the broader curriculum to encourage confidence and enthusiasm in our students. We are very proud of our achievements and visitors always comment on the positivity around the academy. As you walk around you will see active lessons based

on mutual respect and within a calm learning environment. People matter at Rawlett and leadership is evident across the curriculum. Students lead others to prepare our learners for life long learning and their next steps. Whether they progress to higher education, further education or the world of work, on leaving Rawlett we are proud that our students are able to make a positive contribution as responsible and caring young people. Our key focus is on learning and we aim for all students to be 'Rawlett Fit' in body and mind. Positive attitudes are promoted through a system of rewarding positive approaches to learning as we believe that a rewarding environment which celebrates success leads to a positive learning experience for every individual. We aim to provide students with a wide range of extra-curricular activities to support their personal and academic progress. There are a wide range of sporting opportunities for students of all abilities where traditional and non-traditional games and sports are offered. International School status has helped us develop learning partnerships with schools in other countries to support the focus on skills essential for the 21st century. The curriculum, particularly Personal Development, offers students a wide range of ‘volunteering’ activities within our local community. We are proud that our learning experience extends beyond the formal curriculum. The Rawlett Sports Centre provides a range of sporting and recreational activities for young people and the local community. Links with our feeder primary schools are enhanced by the Sports Leaders Awards Level 1 and 2 gained by older students who plan and deliver activities for local junior school pupils. A huge number of visits and trips take place each year to support the curriculum but most importantly develop the skills of the whole child. Our academic success continues each year and is based firmly in the belief of a Learning Partnership between staff, students and parents/carers where we share the responsibility of nurturing each child to achieve their potential through open communication. Parents always have a choice of school and Rawlett is a local school of choice for a reason. Numbers increase each year based on strong learning partnerships and this in turn creates our positive local reputation.

🎉 CELEBRATING GCSE SUCCESS AT LIFT RAWLETT! 🎉

Today is a very special day at Lift Rawlett as we celebrate the hard work, resilience and ambition of our Year 11 students receiving their GCSE and vocational results.

After years of dedication, our students can be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. These results represent far more than grades—they reflect determination, personal growth and the courage to keep aiming high.

Among this year’s outstanding individual successes are:

🌟 Chloe Twigg – five grade 9s and four grade 8s. Chloe will study A-levels at Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls.

🌟 Ellie Aldridge Cox – six grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s. Ellie will study A-levels at King Edward VI School.

🌟 Weronika Kozubal – five grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7. Weronika will study A-levels at Tamworth Sixth Form.

🌟 Zak Smith – one grade 9, one L2D* and four grade 8s. Zak will begin a vocational pathway at South Staffordshire College.

🌟 Evie Galbraith-Wood – three grade 9s and five grade 8s. Evie will study A-levels at The Polesworth School Sixth Form.

We are equally proud of every student who has worked hard to achieve their personal goals. Many have now secured the grades they need to progress to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, vocational courses and other exciting opportunities.

Throughout the year, students have embraced a wide range of revision opportunities, including drop-in sessions, booster classes, holiday revision and Sunday sessions. Their commitment has been remarkable, and today they can enjoy the rewards of that effort.

Head of School Tom Martin said: “Seeing our students celebrate results that reflect years of hard work, resilience and ambition is an absolute privilege. These achievements are a direct reflection of our whole school community.”

A huge thank you must also go to our dedicated staff for their expertise, encouragement and unwavering support, and to our parents and carers for the important part they have played throughout our students’ journey.

To every member of the Lift Rawlett Class of 2026: congratulations!

Be proud of how far you have come, be excited about what lies ahead and continue to aim high. Today marks the end of one chapter—but it is also the beginning of an exciting new adventure.

This is your moment. Your future starts here—and we cannot wait to see where it takes you! 💫

Respect. Aspiration. Opportunity.

📺 RAWLETT STUDENTS FEATURE IN SKY NEWS DOCUMENTARY

We are incredibly proud of the Rawlett students who took part in the new documentary, Sky Kids Investigates: Will the Ban Work?

The programme follows students who agreed to stop using social media for two weeks, exploring how the ban affected their daily lives, friendships and wellbeing.

The documentary is especially timely following the Government’s announcement that, from spring 2027, children under 16 will no longer be able to use certain social media services.

Our students spoke confidently and thoughtfully about an important issue affecting young people across the country. Although not everyone who participated appears in the final programme, the views expressed reflect the valuable contribution made by everyone involved.

The documentary will be broadcast on Sky News:

📅 Today (Saturday) at 2.30pm
📅 Tomorrow (Sunday) at 4.30pm

It will also be shown across various Sky channels throughout the coming week.

🦉🐍 Summer School – Day 3! 🎈

Today has been another exciting and action-packed day at Rawlett Summer School!

Students enjoyed a fascinating visit from The Animal Man, getting the chance to meet and learn about an amazing selection of animals — including owls, reptiles and some rather large insects!

They also put their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test by designing structures capable of holding critical loads and creating their own parachutes. There was plenty of experimenting, adapting and testing along the way!

A brilliant day filled with curiosity, courage and hands-on learning. Well done, everyone!

📚✨ Rawlett Book Club at RAF Cosford ✨📚

Yesterday, some of our brilliant Book Club students enjoyed a fantastic day at RAF Cosford for the Staffordshire Young Teen Fiction Book Award.

Students from our Monday and Thursday Book Clubs have been busy reading the shortlisted titles over recent weeks, discussing the stories, characters and themes before taking part in yesterday’s celebration of young adult fiction.

The group heard inspiring talks from authors A.J. Clack, last year’s winner, and Ross Welford, before having the chance to chat with the authors and get their books signed.

The event finished with the announcement of this year’s winning book: The Last Dragon on Mars by Scott Reintgen. 🐉🚀

A huge well done to our students for representing Rawlett so wonderfully. We are sure they would love to tell you all about the day, the books they read, and the authors they met!

We know it is going to be a fantastic three days and we cannot wait to see everyone. To make the occasion even more special, we also have goodie bags ready for all students joining us.

Work Experience Week 2026

A huge well done to all of our students who are out on work experience this week.

Across Tamworth and beyond, Rawlett students are stepping into the world of work, developing confidence, building new skills and getting a valuable insight into future careers.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to the hundreds of businesses and organisations who are generously hosting our students this week. Your support, time and encouragement make such a difference and help provide our young people with opportunities that can shape their futures.

We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to hearing all about their experiences.
