💤 Sleep is so important for growing minds and bodies! 💕

A good night’s sleep helps children to learn, play, manage their emotions, and stay healthy. Creating a calm and consistent bedtime routine can make all the difference in helping little ones feel safe, relaxed, and ready for sleep. 🌙✨

Simple bedtime routines could include:
📖 Reading a bedtime story
🛁 A warm bath
🎵 Quiet songs or calming music
🧸 Cuddles and quiet time
⏰ Going to bed at the same time each night

Well-rested children are happier, more focused, and ready for another fun-filled day of learning and adventure! 🌟

What’s part of your child’s favourite bedtime routine? Share your tips below 👇💙

As we move into the warmer months, we would like to remind everyone of a few important housekeeping rules around drop‑off and collection times. These measures are in place to ensure the safety of all children and to support the smooth running of the nursery and wider school environment.

- Mobile Phone Use

We kindly ask that mobile phones are not used during drop‑off or collection times. This helps us:

* Maintain children’s safety
* Ensure staff can communicate clearly with parents
* Protect the confidentiality of all children

- Collection Procedure

Once you have collected your child, please walk promptly around to the school gates rather than remaining in or near the nursery area. As the weather improves, the reception class will be using their playground shortly before their home time, and:

* Loitering adults can cause unnecessary distraction for pupils
* This helps staff manage children safely and calmly

We appreciate your cooperation with this to ensure all children can enjoy their outdoor time safely.

- Collection Time

All children must be collected by 2:45pm.

We have seen a positive improvement in recent weeks and thank those families who are consistently picking up on time. However, we are still experiencing some children being collected as late as 3:00pm. Please be aware:

* Late collections impact staff meeting time and paperwork
* Staff may be required elsewhere once sessions end

To support our staff and maintain consistency, it is essential that all children are collected on time.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in helping us maintain a safe, calm, and respectful environment for all children and staff.

If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of the nursery team.

We’ve had lots of questions recently about school readiness, so we wanted to share some simple ways you can support your child at home 💙

The most important thing isn’t formal learning — it’s building confidence, independence, and positive social skills.

Here are some great ways to help:

💙Practising getting dressed independently (including shoes, socks, and coats)
💙Building toileting confidence, including wiping themselves!
💙Sharing books, songs, and nursery rhymes together
💙Recognising their own name (no need to write it yet!) amazing if children can but this shouldn’t be forced! Children will let you know when they are ready, lots of fine motor activities to help their little hands grow muscles ready to write
💙Using cutlery and having a go at cutting their own food
💙Learning to share, take turns, and show kindness to others
💙Developing patience in everyday situations
💙Counting and noticing numbers in the environment around them

Every small step makes a big difference. These everyday skills help children feel confident, capable, and ready for their next adventure ✨
